Megastar Sharon Cuneta Urges Congress To Pass A Bill Legalizing Divorce In The Philippines

72878382-9A6D-44A2-B438-B3B9E2D67098MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Proponents and supporters for the legalization of divorce in the Philippines just got a new poster lady: Megastar Sharon Cuneta, wife of Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

Cuneta urged members of Congress to pass a bill that would make it legal for dissatified, frustrated and embarrassed wives to divorce their husbands, especially if there are irreconcilable differences between them.

The Megastar sent an urgent message to Representatives soon after that embarrassing encounter in the Senate between her husband Kiko Pangilinan and Panfilo Lacson.

During that verbal encounter, Lacson criticized Pangilinan and the rest of the Senators who signed a draft resolution asking the Supreme Court to reconsider its 8-6 decision ousting Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno for violation of the Constitution.

Lacson accused Pangilinan and company of meddling in the affairs of the Court which is an independent, albeit co-equal branch of government.

Cuneta said she was extremely embarrassed by that Senate encounter and wants to distance herself from the antics of her husband.

”Sobra na, tama na,” Cuneta told The Adobo Chronicles.

She urged Filipinos, especially her fans to contact their Representatives to pass a divorce bill ASAP.

The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said that it will recommend to Pope Francis the excommunication of Cuneta for going against the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Let the games begin!

Senator Leila De Lima Says Activist Priest Fr. Robert Reyes Is A “Fake”

8105AABE-C196-4527-B700-748261D15038.jpegCAMP CRAME, Quezon City, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Despite being incarcerated for criminal charges filed against her, Senator Leila De Lima is know to be using her Senatorial pulpit and stationery to continue to criticize the Duterte Administration.

But today, she used that pulpit to declare that activist priest Fr. Robert Reyes — the same Fr. Reyes who staged a mock funeral and wake (of Democracy) in front of the Supreme Court several weeks ago, is a “fake.”

7C59E64E-CB70-42BC-9653-F2B94571B17DIn a typewritten statement (she has a typewritter inside her jail cell?), De Lima referred to Reyes as a “parish priest.”  Yes, in quotation marks.  Which denotes fakery and untruth.

So there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The next ombudsman will not be a woman, according to President Rodrigo Duterte.

He said this as he explained his requirements for the next head of the Office of the Ombudsman.

“[S]omeone whose integrity is admired by people. Of course, it could not be [a] politician, especially not a woman” he said while speaking with reporters late Wednesday night.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales will hang her robes on July 26, seven years since former President Benigno Aquino III appointed her to the position.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque spoke with The Adobo Chronicles and explained that the President is only following the law.
“The position is called Ombudsman, not Ombudswoman,” Roque said.

He also did not discount the possibility that Duterte will appoint a gay man.
