World Leaders Seek Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s Advice

17D50B3F-D5A2-49F2-82B1-32AE3FFB6DCCPARIS, France (The Adobo Chronicles, Berlin Bureau) – While the Liberal Party and other Opposition groups are celebrating the drop in Rodrigo Duterte’s satisfaction and trust ratings as per the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, world leaders have been calling the Philippine President for advice.

The survey showed that Duterte’s net satisfaction rating dipped to 48 percent in September compared to last June’s 66 percent.  His trust rating also declined to 73 percent from last June’s 82 percent. 22294D83-6E55-4ED9-9ACB-F956AA773391

Still, Duterte has the highest ratings compared to the most influential of world leaders.

French President Emmanuel Macron’s satisfaction rating is 36 percent. British Prime Minister Theresa May earned a 34 percent satisfaction rate. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had a July approval rating of 34.2 percent. The latest rating for German Chancellor Angela Merkel was 34 percent. Donald Trump’s approval rating is currently at 32 percent.

During the phone calls with Duterte, the world leaders sought advice on how to increase their satisfaction and trust ratings among their respective constituents.

Duterte’s advice? “Just be true to yourself.”

Great advice.

One Million Protest March Awaits Donald Trump’s Manila Visit

IMG_5544.PNGMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In what is being described as “miraculously unprecedented,” supporters and critics alike of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte will hold a joint protest march at the Luneta during the Manila visit of Donald Trump.

The U.S. President is scheduled to be in the Philippines this November to attend the summit meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Leaders of “Tindig Pilipinas,” an anti-Duterte movement and their Duterte counterparts secretly met at Club Filipino in Makati last night to finalize plans for the Million March.

Leading the protest march will be Senators Antonio Trillanes, Risa Hontiveros and Bam Aquino; Jim Paredes, Raissa Robles, Maria Ressa, Mocha Uson, Thinking Pinoy, Sass Rogando Sasot, and Imee Marcos who will lock hands throughout the rally.

President Duterte has given the go signal to provide incarcerated Senator Leila De Lima a one-day pass so she could participate in the march.

Is this the beginning of a United Philippines?

We have Trump to thank.

BREAKING: Twitter To Test 280-Character Limit, Starting With Trump

IMG_5396.PNGSAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – For years, Twitter account holders have been frustrated about the 140-character limit for tweets.  It’s just not enough to finish a thought or express an opinion.

No one was more frustrated than Donald Trump, who even as president of the United States, relies on Twitter to communicate with the American people — followers and critics alike.

Well, today, the San Francisco-based social media giant announced it would be rolling out a beta version of a 280-word Twitter that doubles the original character limit.

In respect for the Office of the President, Twitter said that Trump will be among the first account holders to avail of the new, improved and doubled tweet.

Heaven bless us!  And God bless America!
