Immigrant Groups Endorse Donald Trump’s Plan To Include Citizenship Question In U.S. Census

6BFEF730-C086-49F4-9817-3CAA68C73DA2WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Democratic attorneys general in several states said Tuesday they would bring legal action to stop the Trump administration from adding a question on citizenship to the next U.S. census, a question they said would lead to serious undercounts that could reverberate for years to come.

The administration said late Tuesday it would include a question on the decennial survey that would ask whether respondents are American citizens.

But in a very unexpected reaction, the National Coalition of Undocumented Immigrants (NCUI) has formally endorsed Trump’s controversial proposal.

NCUI told The Adobo Chronicles that should the question appear in the next Census, it will ask all of its 12.5 Million members to answer ‘yes’ and say they are American citizens.

”In effect, the Census results will change the government’s policies and strategies around immigration.  With practically no undocumented immigrants to count, Trump’s anti-immigrant policies will become moot and academic,” a spokesperson for NCUI said.

So, bring it on, Mr. Trump!

Ex-Comelec Chair Andy Bautista Seeking Professional Opportunities In San Francisco

07E85C9C-6872-4965-8E9A-38B142E61045SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – The Philippine Senate has ordered the arrest of former Commission on Elections (Comelec) chair Andres “Andy” Bautista after he repeatedly failed to attend the Senate probe into his alleged unexplained wealth. However, the warrant could not be served because Bautista is out of the country.

Reports say that Bautista has been out of the country since November 21 last year to “explore professional opportunities” and “seek assistance for certain medical challenge” he was facing.

Bautista’s wife, Patricia, has been accusing him of allegedly amassing nearly P1-billion worth of unexplained wealth, and of owning more than 30 bank accounts with the Luzon Development Bank’s (LDB) amounting to P329 million.

Our investigative reporters have confirmed that Bautista is in San Francisco seeking professional opportunities. He has applied for a position as Executive Director of the Folsom Street Fair.

Folsom Street Fair (FSF) is an annual BDSM and leather subculture street fair held in September, that caps San Francisco’s “Leather Pride Week”. Sometimes simply referred to as “Folsom”, it takes place on Folsom Street between 8th and 13th Streets, in San Francisco’s South of Market district.

We wish Bautista the best of luck. It would be a great pride among Filipino Americans to have a Pinoy head the world’s largest leather event.

Donald Trump Violates His Own Immigration Policy

FEE41FF9-3E8E-4DC5-9D42-6F018CF32A75.jpegWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong-un, has invited President Trump to meet for negotiations over its nuclear program, a diplomatic overture that would bring together two strong-willed, idiosyncratic leaders who have traded threats of war.

The White House said that Mr. Trump had accepted the invitation.

For security reasons, The White House said that the meeting will take place in the U.S., not in North Korea — which means that Mr. Trump will be violating his own immigration policy which bars foreigners with ties to terrorism to enter the country.

Trump instructed the State Department to issue a non-immigrant visa to Kim so that he could enter America.

Immigration adovcates have criticized Mr. Trump for reneging on his immigration promise.

”It is hypocritical for Trump to issue a visa to Kim when the American president has denied legalization to Dreamers — foreign nationals who have been brought to the U.S. by their undocumented parents,” the advocates said.

The Adobo Chronicles reached out to The White House for comment, but we have not yet received any response.
