NAGA CITY, Philippines (Exclusive to The Adobo Chronicles) – The Office of the Vice President (OVP) has confirmed that Leni Robredo will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Garlic Festival in Gilroy, California.
The Gilroy Garlic Festival is the biggest such event in the world during which garlic farmers and entrepreneurs showcase the versatility of this popular agricultural produce.
This year’s event will also feature musical entertainment, rides, food fares and a garlic conference.
The organizing committee of the conference said that they have invited Robredo to talk about her experiences with regards to the use of garlic in warding off aswangs, tikbalangs and witches in her home province of Camarines Sur.
Camarines Sur is believed to be the aswang capital of the Philippines 🇵🇭.
Aswangs are nocturnal half-human, half-winged blood-sucking witches that prey on people, especially children. They are known to be repelled by the smell of garlic.
