‘Delilah’ To Premiere On Congressional TV Next Week

De Lima as ‘Delilah’

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It is being described as more entertaining, more explosive and more thrilling than the ‘Matobato’ series which made its debut on Senate TV last week.

‘Delilah,’ based on the true story of Philippine Senator Leila De Lima will premiere on Congressional TV next week.

While ‘Matobato’ tackled the issue of alleged extra-judicial killings under the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, ‘Delilah’ will focus on the alleged meaty and juicy role of De Lima in the proliferation of drugs not only inside the New Bilibid Prison but also throughout the country when she was Secretary of the Department of Justice under the Aquino administration.

Aside from De Lima, the cast of characters includes recording artist Herbert Colangco, convicted drug dealer who has produced hit music videos from inside his prison cell.

The Adobo Chronicles just learned that Colangco will sing the theme song of the news series — a rock version cover of “My, My, My Delilah.”

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Inquirer is reporting that convicted robber and drug dealer Herbert “Ampang” Colangco is one of the high profile inmates that will testify against Senator Leila de Lima in the congressional inquiry next week on the proliferation of illegal drugs in the country’s major prison facility, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said Friday.

Colangco is one of the names in the drug matrix presented by President Rodrigo Duterte as among the convicts inside the maximum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) who still managed to continue operations despite incarceration. Also in the matrix are De Lima, her former driver Ronnie Dayan and another drug convict, Peter Co.

Colangco also managed to shoot music videos inside prison and donated millions of pesos to the Bilibid hospital.

The Adobo Chronicles caught up with Colangco in his jail cell while rehearsing for a new music video that he is scheduled to record next week.  We asked him what major revelation he is going to make about Senator De Lima.

Colangco told us that he will testify that De Lima is a karaoke addict and that she has used Colangco’s recording facilities at the New Bilibid Prison many times and that she had asked him to be his vocal coach.

When we asked Colangco about De Lima’s connection with drugs inside the prison, he simply said, “My lips are sealed.”

We just have to wait next week when the Congressional hearing unfolds.

Senate Witness Says Richard King Was Gunned Down At McDonald’s, Jollibee Cries ‘Foul’

Witness Matobato

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) –  Confessed “Davao Death Squad” member Edgar Matobato testified at the Philippine Senate Thursday that Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte ordered to have Cebuano businessman Richard King killed in 2014. He said that King was gunned down inside a fastfood chain, McDonald’s.

Matobato’s testimony was part of the Senate’s hearing on extra-judicial killings, called by Senator Leila De Lima.

Today, Jollibee, McDonald’s main competition in the Philippines, accused Matobato of lying in his testimony, claiming that McDonald’s may have paid him as a way to promote the American fastfood chain.

“McDonald’s is freaking out because its popularity has been eclipsed by Jollibee,” a spokesperson for the Filipino-owned fast food chain said. “What could be a better way to get free publicity and advertising than to have a Senate witness mention McDonald’s in his televised testimony?”
