Duterte Critic Senator Leila De Lima Suffering From Severe Depression

img_7710MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Duterte critic Senator Leila de Lima told The Adobo Chronicles today that she is recovering from severe depression.

De Lima said that it all started a few weeks before the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant which concluded Monday in Manila.

“For those few weeks, the country’s and media’s attention were focused on the beauty contestants,” the senator said, ” I can’t even get into the inside pages of the newspapers.”

She called for several press conferences but there was not a single news media outlet that attended.

But now that the pageant is over, De Lima said she will again be the darling of the media, especially Inquirer, Rappler, ABS-CBN and GMA News, not to mention the blogs of Cynthia Patag, Leah Navarro and Raissa Robles.

The Adobo Chronicles scored the interview with De Lima as she was discharged from a local mental therapy clinic.

De Lima’s first after-therapy media statement?

“The PNP under Duterte can now be considered as the most organized criminal group in the country. When you speak of organized crime in the Philippines, you speak of the PNP under Duterte.”

Bishop Bacani On P10 Million Offer To President Duterte: ‘I Was Misquoted’

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani on Thursday challenged President Rodrigo Duterte to prove his accusations that he has 2 wives and offered a P10 million reward if Duterte can prove it.

On Tuesday, Duterte lashed out at the Catholic Church, and said that the clergy has no moral ascendancy to lecture him because they also commit sinful acts. He
singled out Bacani, who has been vocal in criticizing the administration’s bloody war on illegal drugs.

However, in an exclusive interview with The Adobo Chronicles, the bishop said that he was misquoted by the local mainstream media.

He said that what he offered was P10 BILLION, not P10 million.

He added, “Anong palagay nila sa simbahan, poor?”
(What do they think of the church, poor?)

VP Leni Robredo Not Invited To Miss Universe Pageant, Says She Can’t Afford To Buy A Ticket

img_8772DONA REMEDIOS TRINIDAD, Bulacan, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo said she was not invited to watch the Miss Universe 2016 pageant which will be held Monday in Manila.

“Hindi e. Hindi ako imbitado,” was her quick answer when reporters asked if she will watch the coronation night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Robredo said she can’t afford to buy a ticket which, for VIP admission, costs P 50,000.

“I spent a lot of money during our family vacation in the U.S. last month so I don’t have spare cash to be able to watch the pageant in person,” she said. “Also, President Duterte has ordered that no taxpayer funds will be used for the pageant so I can’t use funds from the OVP (Office of the Vice President) to buy a ticket.”

Meanwhile, it is rumored that Filipino American millionaire and Robredo supporter Loida Nicolas-Lewis is planning to purchase several VIP seats as a gift to the Robredo family.

All’s well that ends well!
