Vice President Leni Robredo Launches Kulay-Buhay Program

AB8F6D12-5DE1-4219-94B0-93496F254888.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo has a new advocacy these days.

On Tuesday, she helped renovate classrooms at the Wawa Elementary School in Navotas City as part of the Brigada Eskwela program of the Department of Education (DepEd).

She enjoyed painting the walls of a classroom (in front of cameras) so much that she decided to launch her own classroom-painting program. Nationwide.

She’s calling it ‘Kulay-Buhay Program,’ mimicking her other advocacy, ‘Angat-Buhay.’

The Office of the Vice President is seeking volunteers to join Robredo in a year-round program of painting public schools across the country. No skills or experience necessary.

Well, that’s assuming of course that she is still the Vice President During that coming period.

To sign up, please contact the Office of the Vice President.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The next ombudsman will not be a woman, according to President Rodrigo Duterte.

He said this as he explained his requirements for the next head of the Office of the Ombudsman.

“[S]omeone whose integrity is admired by people. Of course, it could not be [a] politician, especially not a woman” he said while speaking with reporters late Wednesday night.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales will hang her robes on July 26, seven years since former President Benigno Aquino III appointed her to the position.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque spoke with The Adobo Chronicles and explained that the President is only following the law.
“The position is called Ombudsman, not Ombudswoman,” Roque said.

He also did not discount the possibility that Duterte will appoint a gay man.
