Rodrigo Duterte Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize!

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, (The Adobo Chronicles, Berlin Bureau) – For standing between two of the most powerful feuding nations of the world, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has been nominated for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.

The announcement came in Stockholm just hours after Duterte announced that he was withdrawing his earlier decision to end the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) with the United States in his country. The VFA allows American military forces to come and go and use Philippine facilities for bilateral training or military exercises.

Duterte has also maintained cordial relations with China, despite the ongoing territorial dispute over areas of the West Philippine Sea and his country’s victory in a United Nation’s arbitration court.

“By standing between the U.S. and China, Duterte has diffused the conflict between the two powerful countries and has practically averted the possibility of war,” a Nobel Prize statement said.. “We commend Duterte’s peace efforts which we hope will be recognized by the Nobel Peace Price committee,” it added.

RAISSA ROBLES DIDN’T GET IMMIGRATION MEMO

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Self-proclaimed investigative journalist Raissa Robles said she didn’t get the memo from the Philippine Bureau of Immigration regarding entry protocols for travelers arriving in the country.

In a post on her social media account, Robles questioned why the courtesy call on President Rodrigo Duterte by Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz was done “virtually.”

Current travel policy in the country requires all incoming travelers to quarantine for 7 to 10 days, depending on vaccination status, as a precaution against the spread of Covid-19, especially the new, more transmissible Delta variant.

Netizens quickly criticized Robles for not doing her “investigation” before sending her post critical of Malacañang.

President Duterte Appoints Raissa Robles New Flooding Czar!

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Proving once again that his policies and actions are dictated by science and not by politics, President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed one of his critics to a top Cabinet-level position.

Self-proclaimed investigative journalist-turned-hydrologist Raissa Robles is the Administration’s new Flooding Czar.

Duterte was impressed by Robles expert analysis regarding flooding in Metro Manila.

In her latest tweets, Robles blamed the Dolomite Beach at Manila Bay for the extensive flooding going in the metropolis.

To back her credentials and expertise, Robles said she has been covering flooding in Metro Manila and Central Luzon since 1984. Such an impressive resumé!
