DISNEY TO RELEASE NEW ‘LITTLE MERMAID’ MOVIE

imageHollywood, California (The Adobo Chronicles ) – ‘The Little Mermaid’ turns 25 today, and Disney Films has a grand plan to continue the animated film’s journey into the next 25 years.

On the eve of the film’s silver anniversary, Disney announced it has started filming the sequel to ‘The Little Mermaid.’ It is expected to be released on Memorial Day of 2015.

The new film will follow the aquatic journey of the mermaid as she enters her adult years. Disney promises that the film will enthrall kids and adults alike. “Audiences from every street corner of the world will fall in love with the adult heroine, Lady Starbucks,” a spokesperson said.

CNN TRAILS FOX NEWS, MSNBC IN MISREPORTING THE NEWS

imageNew York, New York (The Adobo Chronicles) – CNN, the pioneer in 24-hour cable news, is not a happy camper. The Atlanta-based news network is far behind FOX News and MSNBC in misreporting the news, according to a recent survey.

Punditfact, a branch of Politifact, has put together profiles for CNN, MSNBC and FOX News detailing just how honest each of these networks are. And while it’s obviously not a completely comprehensive profile, it’s a decent measure of the honesty of each.

Pundifact found FOX News to have only told the truth 18 percent of the time. MSNBC was found to have been honest 31 percent of the time, while CNN came in a distant third with being honest 60 percent of the time.

The survey results was disappointing news for CNN Worldwide CEO Jeff Zucker. “CNN has always been No. 1 in reporting and comprehensively covering breaking news as well as in ratings and reliability as an accurate news source.  We will do all we can to take back the top spot from FOX News,” he promised.

Whether you are a fan of FOX News, MSNBC or CNN, think twice before believing the news you are getting from these top cable networks. Stick to satire news sources; you know that the news you’re getting is 100% faux – not 18, not 31, not 60 percent.

HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN UNVEILS NEW LGBT LOGO

imageWashington, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles) – The equal sign (=) has long been a symbol of the LGBT community’s quest for equality and is, in fact, the logo of the Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBT advocacy organization in the U.S.

In an op-ed piece published in the latest issue of the LGBT magazine The Advocate, Ringo Le, director of the film ‘Big Gay Love,’ wrote a scathing criticism of the HRC logo. The film is about the struggles of being an Asian man in the American gay community.

In his piece, Le said:

“An equal sign is often used as a symbol for the LGBT community, but I believe a pyramid is a more appropriate image. And at the top of the social hierarchy stands the idealized gay white man, and it will probably never change.”

Being the responsive and and socially-responsible organization that it is, the HRC announced it was changing its logo from an equal sign to a pyramid with the rainbow colors of the gay flag,  with the top  section of the pyramid representing the gay white man.

African American, Asian and Latino gay men and women across the country immediately praised the HRC move, saying that this could signal a historic kumbaya moment in the American LGBT community.
