SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Thousands of Giants fans are expected to descend upon Super Bowl City in San Francisco this Saturday to protest what they are calling a city-sponsored event that discriminates against baseball fans.

Although Super Bowl 50 between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers will actually be held at Levi’s Stadium in the city of Santa Clara, San Francisco has organized a week-long event in the  Embarcadero featuring concerts, fireworks, vendor displays, street dancing, food and booze, and viewing of the championship game live via jumbo screens.

“We have never seen anything like this before,” the protesters said.  “The 49ers are not even in the game so why is the city of San Francisco making such a big deal out of Super Bowl 50 ?”

The Giants fans feel insulted that San Francisco has not done a similar event for their baseball team in the past (when the Giants were not in the World Series).

They plan to chain themselves to BART and Muni trains and block mass transportation to and from Embarcadero.

The San Francisco Police Department is advising  football fans to refrain from wearing  49er or any other NFL team t-shirts or paraphernalia for their own safety and to prevent any untoward confrontation.

Philippine Presidential Candidates Gear Up For Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival

imageBAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Some 2.5 Million people are expected to attend this year’s festivities for the annual Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City, the Philippines’ summer capital.

The month-long celebration of the blooming of flowers begins February 1st and will culminate in a grand street parade later in the month.

2016, of course, is presidential election year in the Philippines, and it would unwise for the candidates to ignore this enormous opportunity to campaign.

Today, The Adobo Chronicles has confirmed that all five major presidential candidates will participate in the street parade, and all have chosen their respective costumes and attires for the grand celebration

The five candidates are Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas (who will be parading with his wife, broadcaster Korina Sanchez), Senators Grace Poe and Miriam Defensor-Santiago, and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

While none of the candidates revealed their chosen costume, they allowed us to publish an artist’s rendition of how they will look like in the parade. (See photo)

Who do you think looks the most presidential?

SAN FRANCISCO, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – San Francisco’s planned Ginger Pride celebration in 2016 just got better. The Pride Committee has just announced that Prince Harry will replace actress Emma Stone as the parade’s celebrity grand marshall.

Earlier, San Francisco  Mayor Ed Lee revealed that the grand marshall will be the naturally-blonde Hollywood star, but ginger people from all over the world sent letters of protest demanding that a real ginger be designated grand marshall.

The committee has been in secret negotiations with ginger-haired international celebrities in the last several months. Today  it has confirmed that the dashing prince has agreed to lead the San Francisco parade. image

Individuals and contingents wishing to be part of the grand parade,  still to be scheduled, are asked to register with the San Francisco mayor’s office. Proof of ginger hair is required, such as passport photos or selfies
