Sacramento, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Come November 2016, voters will decide not on one but two separate proposals to split California into six states.

The first proposal to qualify for the ballot was that of venture capitalist Tim Draper. His proposal is to split California into: Jefferson, North California, Silicon Valley, Central California, West California and South California.

A second initiative, proposed by Equality California (EQCA) just gained enough signatures to qualify for the ballot. Under this second proposal, California will be split into the Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Violet states. When put together on the map, these six states will look like the gay rainbow flag. Unlike the Draper initiative, EQCA’s proposal splits the state into more equal parts, or close to equal. “After all, that’s what we’re all about — equity,” said EQCA board president Andreas Meyer.

Under the EQCA proposal, Silicon Valley, considered the wealthiest region of California will be part of the Yellow state.

(For purposes of disclosure, the headquarters of The Adobo Chronicles is located in the Yellow state. Oh, we mean Silicon Valley).

WHY MICHELLE BACHMANN IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT

Minneapolis, Minnesota (The Adobo Chronicles) – Michelle Bachmann makes no secret about her penchant for being called ‘Madam,’ as in Madam Representative. She is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Minnesota’s 6th district.

Her next career goal is to be called Madam President.

Last week, Bachmann publicly announced her intention to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2016.

If she loses in the contest, she has a backup plan: to establish a high-class brothel in Minneapolis, where, of course, as owner, she’d be called madam.

The problem is, prostitution is illegal in Minnesota, so she needs to work with state legislators to codify the world’s oldest profession in her state where carrying guns in public is legal, with permit.

Now that shouldn’t be such a difficult thing to do for a popular career woman and politician like Bachmann. All she needs to do is to partner with former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, many political pundits say.

OBAMA TO ISSUE EXECUTIVE ORDER ON DEPORTATION

Los Angeles, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Comprehensive immigration reform legislation may be dead this year in the U.S. Congress, but it hasn’t stopped President Barack Obama from using his executive powers to try to fix the country’s broken immigration system.

In a speech today at a community college in Los Angeles, Obama said that American-based firms that use legal loopholes to avoid paying U.S. taxes have effectively renounced any allegiance to their home country. “These firms are essentially renouncing their American citizenship so that they can ship their profits overseas to avoid paying taxes – even as they benefit from all the advantages of being here in America,” the president added.

To deal with the situation, Obama said he will issue an executive order shortly that would speed up the deportation of officials and owners of these firms. “They will be the top priority of the Department of Homeland Security when implementing the country’s immigration laws, Obama said. He added that “we will keep and take care of the undocumented, unaccompanied children from Central America who crossed our borders, as well as the 11 Million undocumented immigrants now in the country but who do not have criminal records. We will focus our deportation efforts on the moneyed crooks who don’t value their American citizenship.”
