Brexit Fallout: Oxford Dictionaries To Drop The Vowels ‘E’ And ‘U’

imageLONDON, United Kingdom (The Adobo Chronicles, Berlin Bureau) – The massive fallout from the U.K.’s Brexit vote to leave the European Union (EU) continues unabated.  Financial stocks have fallen. Racial tensions escalate. European unity is in peril.

Now, even the English language must change.

Today, Oxford University Press announced that it will soon release an updated edition of its English Dictionaries that will basically eliminate the vowels ‘E’ and ‘U,’ leaving only three: ‘A,’ ‘I’ and ‘O.’

“Since the U.K. decided to leave the EU, we don’t see any further need for those two vowels,” an Oxford Press announcement said. image

The Adobo Chronicles learned from reliable sources that the dropped vowels in each word entry in the dictionaries will be automatically replaced with the asterisk (*).

Henceforth, our datelines emanating from the United Kingdom will appear as ” *nit*d Kingdom.”

BREAKING: GlaxoSmithKline Announces New Powerful Weight Loss Pill

imageLONDON, United Kingdom (The Adobo Chronicles, Berlin Bureau) – The U.K.-based pharmaceutical giant, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) — the world’s fifth largest — announced today that it has developed the most powerful weight loss pill ever.

GSK expects to start marketing the new drug in the next few weeks, starting in Europe.

The new drug, called Brexit, is said to guarantee significant loss of pounds.

Donald Trump Now Wants To Build Border Wall Between U.S. And Canada

NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that beginning December 1, 2016, Canada will lift its visa requirements for Mexicans visiting the North American country.

The historic announcement was made a joint press conference held in Ottawa by Trudeau and visiting Mexican President Jose Peña Nieto.

Trudeau’s announcement caught Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump by surprise.  Trump has campaigned on the promise to build a great wall in the southern border with Mexico as a way to prevent illegal Mexican immigration to the U.S.

Now, Trump has added to his campaign promise that he will also build a border wall between U.S. and Canada in order to prevent Mexicans visiting Canada from crossing into the United States.

While Trump has said that he will ask the Mexican government to pay for building the southern border wall, he now says the he will ask the Canadian government to pay for the northern border wall.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and Trump will have to revise his presidential campaign rhetoric to include building a wall not just between U.S. and Mexico but also between U.S. and Canada.
