LEGAZPI CITY, Albay (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – He is a known critic of the Duterte administration.  He recently called the president’s proclamation of a National Day of Protest a “farce,” and was one of the leading opponents of the impeachment complaint filed against Andy Bautista of the Commission on Elections.

So, when Albay Independent Representative Edcel Lagman watched CNN News from his home on Monday night, he was shocked to learn about the September 28 abolition of the House of Representatives.  He immediately accused Duterte of vengeance and cried “foul.”

It took a calmer Mrs. Lagman to finally point out that the news was not about Duterte nor the Philippines but about Japan and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

For some time now, there have  been rumors and speculation that Duterte will abolish Congress and declare a revolutionary government to facilitate the transition by the Philippines towards Federalism.

Miss Venezuela Banned From Entering U.S.

IMG_5247.PNGWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Donald Trump used to own the Miss Universe Organization which sponsors the annual Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.

But now that he’s president, Trump wants nothing to do with the next Miss Universe — if it happens to be Miss Venezuela.

Trump’s new travel ban covers 8 countries, including Venezuela.

The Miss Universe Organization is headquartered in New York, and the winning beauty is provided an apartment in the Big Apple throughout her reign.

Unless it is Miss Venezuela.

Venezuela has accumulated more Big Four international pageant titles than any other country, including seven Miss Universe winners, six Miss World winners, seven Miss International winners and two Miss Earth winners.

BREAKING: Filipinos Banned From Traveling To U.S.

IMG_5239.PNGWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Filipinos were shocked today upon hearing that the Philippines has been included in President Donald Trump’s new, expanded travel ban.

The U.S. State Department, however, clarified that the ban only applies to Filipinos who are not able to secure a visa to visit the U.S.

“It’s not really a change in policy,” a spokesperson told The Adobo Chronicles.

Whew!

All’s well that ends well.
