Senator Bam Aquino Invokes Law Of Gravity In Seeking NFA Administrator’s Resignation

CE536368-9F9A-49FF-B9D3-8EDB51F3727A.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Yesterday, The Adobo Chronicles reported that Senator Grace Poe wanted to repeal the Law of Supply and Demand as she publicly called for the resignation of NFA Administrator Jason Aquino. Poe blamed Aquino for the short supply of NFA rice.

Another Senator, Bam Aquino, also called for his namesake (no relation) to step down, but had a different argument.

Senator Aquino invoked the Law of Gravity in seeking the NFA head’s resignation.

”What goes up, must come down,” Aquino said, “Administrator Aquino was on top, now he must come down.”

Senator Grace Poe Files Senate Bill To Repeal The Law Of Supply And Demand

AA2E08EF-EF3A-44FF-B593-04A84FD92437MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Senator Grace Poe has publicly called for the resignation of National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Jason Aquino after receiving news that buffer stocks for NFA rice have reached zero levels in the National Capital Region and others.

Nevermind that one of the reasons for the short supply of affordable government rice was the NFA Council’s (separate from NFA Administration) failure to approve Aquino’s recommendation months ago to import rice.  The NFA Council is headed by Cabinet Secretary (and former rebel priest) Jun Evasco.

When told that the rice situation in the country has come about because of the law of supply and demand, Poe wasted no time in filing a new bill in the Senate.

Poe’s Senate Bill No. 0069 seeks to repeal the law of supply and demand.

Brilliant!

SEC Grants Rappler A Cookbook Status

EE52574D-C9F0-4580-8C97-53D79730475FMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Rappler can stay in business without violating the Philippine Constitution. This was the decision handed down today by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

SEC previously revoked the media license of Rappler after it ruled that the online news source owned by Maria Ressa violated the Constitution which prohibits full or partial ownership of Philippine media by foreigners or foreign entities.

Foreign-owned Omidyar Network is an investor in Rappler.

But in order to salvage its legal business status, Ressa applied for a new SEC license that re-classifies Rappler as a cookbook. The application was immediately approved.

For its first article, Rappler posted an enticing recipe of Tofu and Green Bean Stir Fry.

So shall we now call CEO Ressa Rappler’s  Executive Chef?
