Jim Paredes Calls Bongbong Marcos A Copycat

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Self-proclaimed oppositionist Jim Paredes today called former Senator Bongbong Marcos a “copycat.”

In a tweet to his followers, Paredes asked for comments regarding a photo he posted showing Marcos being “prayed-over.”

In an email chat with The Adobo Chronicles, Paredes maintained that pray-overs are the exclusive domain of the Yellows.  He pointed us to file photos showing the likes of Leni Robredo, Mar Roxas, Antonio Trillanes and Leila de Lima being prayed-over.

We could not argue with Paredes.  He has the “resibo” for his Twitter comment. Indeed, pray-overs seem to be a Yellow thing, and Marcos is a copycat.

U.P. Baguio To Incorporate Speech Therapy In All Its Undergraduate Courses

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – The University of the Philippines, Baguio Campus, is the first educational institution to respond to the new city ordinance making it illegal to utter profanities in public, particularly in schools and in businesses catering to young people.

While many individuals and groups have criticized the ordinance as an affront to Free Speech, U.P. Baguio has chosen to be more proactive.

Beginning in the next semester, the school will incorporate Speech Therapy in all its undergraduate courses.  The three-unit course is mandatory for all students regardless of their major.

A member of the U.P Baguio administration, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to speak on behalf of the school, told The Adobo Chronicles that instead of punishing cussers, the school chose to help them reform their speech, a.k.a. foul language.

”Hopefully, by the end of the semester, our students will have totally eliminated profanities  from their everyday speech,” he said.

Imelda Marcos To Seek Refuge Inside Batasang Pambansa

B5677780-ADE3-48FF-80FE-C3695EB7C53AQUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – If Senator Antonio Trillanes did it, why can’t Representative Imelda Marcos?

Many will recall that in the weeks following President Rodrigo Duterte’s issuance of Proclamation 572, which revoked his amnesty, Trillanes sought refuge inside the Senate Building in anticipation of his arrest.

Now, Marcos is reportedly preparing to move into the Batasang Pambansa after the Sandigang Bayan convicted her on seven counts of Graft and ordered her arrest.
Speaking to The Adobo Chronicles,  the former First Lady said she was quite comfortable making the Batasan her home.  “After all, it was built by my husband, the late Ferdinand,” she added.
Unconfirmed reports say that Mrs. Marcos has engaged the services of a well-known interior decorator to redo her office in the Batasan.
