DC Comics Announces Sequel To Batman Vs Superman

imageHOLLYWOOD, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – The reviews are in! “Batman V Superman Is V Bad,” “Even Wonder Woman Can’t Save This Unholy Mess,” “This Movie Is A Crime Against Comic Book Fans.”

Of course these are reviews from film critics.  This latest DC Comics superhero movie hasn’t officially opened yet, so it remains to be seen how the moviegoers will judge what the producers hope would be a worldwide blockbuster.

But already, DC Comics is looking ahead, hoping to rise from what seems to be a sure flop this summer.  It has just announced a new, unprecedented sequel to “Batman vs. Superman.”

The sequel, again to be distributed by Warner Bros., will introduce a new superhero, Pacman. The sequel will be titled “Superman Vs. Pacman.”

The Adobo Chronicles learned that the Pacman character was inspired by no other than Filipino champion boxer Manny Pacquiao, a.k.a Pacman.

DC Comics, however declined to reveal what super power Pacman will have, only to say it is not just boxing.

Both DC Comics and Warner Bros. expect this sequel, to be released in 2017, to break all box-office records by previous superhero movies.

The casting director for the film is now in Manila, searching for the one Pinoy actor who will play Pacman.  Pacquiao is not being considered, especially after his comments about gay men and women, which have offended not just the LGBT community in the Philippines, but all of gay Hollywood.

DONALD TRUMP TO CHALLENGE SUPERMAN’S DUAL CITIZENSHIP

CaptureLAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles) – Well, it appears that Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump is not only a self-proclaimed birther and an opponent of  birth tourism (a.k.a. ‘anchor babies’); he is also against dual citizenship.

Case in point:  Trump says that if elected president, he will issue an executive order that would revoke Superman’s dual citizenship.

While Superman has apparently renounced his U.S. citizenship in favor of being an honorary citizen of every country in the world, Kent Clark has chosen to retain his. That makes Superman/Clark a dual citizen.

“Superman can’t have the best of both worlds,” Trump said. “He is either a U.S. citizen or an undocumented alien.”

While many countries allow dual citizenship for its natural-born population, the United States does not formally recognize such status for U.S. citizens.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles) – Two of the country’s minority journalism organizations today formally protested the use of the term ‘illegal alien’ in the new Hollywood film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The Asian American Journalists Association(AAJA) and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) sent a strongly-worded joint letter to Zack Snyder accusing the film’s director of perpetuating stereotypes and fueling anti-immigrant sentiments.

The film’s first trailer was released yesterday. In one scene, Superman (Henry Cavil)  is seen on Capitol Hill being mobbed by angry protesters bearing placards with messages like “Superman = Illegal Alien,” and “Aliens are Un-American.”

The letter asked Snyder: “How difficult is it for you to use ‘undocumented immigrant’ instead of ‘illegal alien?’

AAJA and NAHJ have been advocating against the use of offensive and derogatory language by the media especially as it relates to immigrants and minority communities.

In a brief email response to the journalism organizations, Snyder simply said, “Chill, guys. This is fiction! Besides, Superman IS an alien!”

The film opens March 16, 2016 in theaters worldwide. Ben Affleck plays the role of Batman.
