WASILLA, Alaska (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Shortly after going public about his status as an undocumented immigrant in the U.S., Pulitzer Prize-winning Filipino journalist Jose Antonio Vargas established Define American, a non-profit media and culture organization that seeks to elevate the conversation around immigration and citizenship in America.

Now, former Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has just launched a copycat grassroots organization she is calling Speak American. It is a movement she hopes will quickly spread throughout America that will unequivocally make American (read: U.S. English) the required and only language people  — documented and undocumented alike — speak while in the U.S. She urged netizens to start using the hashtag #SpeakAmerican.

The launch of the movement follows Palin’s recent television interview during which she stated that Spanish-speaking people should ‘speak American’ while in the U.S.  She was responding to a question regarding Donald Trump’s criticism of fellow Republican candidate Jeb Bush who spoke in fluent Spanish during one of his campaign appearances.

As she unveiled the new grassroots movement, Palin released a new video of a thirteen-year-old girl from Alaska which she says demonstrates the kind of American language skill that all young people living in the U.S. should emulate:

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is dead serious about his recently-announced immigration policy, and he is not waiting until he gets elected.

Trump’s policy includes the building a a great wall along the entire stretch of the southern border with Mexico, deporting all the estimated 11 Million undocumented immigrants now living in the U.S., and amending the constitutional provision for birthright citizenship.

Speaking with reporters at the Trump hotel in Las Vegas, the real estate mogul revealed a list of the 5 top priorities that he wants to be deported immediately:

  1. Senator Ted Cruz, also a Republican presidential candidate, who was born in Canada
  2. Governor Bobby ‘Piyush’ Jindal, another Republican presidential candidate, who was born in the U.S. to a mother who was at the time not a U.S. citizen
  3. Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush, who claimed in his Texas voter registration that he was Latino
  4. Jose Antonio Vargas, Pulitzer prize winner and self-identified undocumented immigrant from the Philippines
  5. The twin cubs recently born to a  giant panda loaned by the Chinese government to the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.

“I hate rhetoric,” Trump said, “let’s get serious in protecting our borders and get these undocumented folks out of here!”

DONALD TRUMP HEEDS ANN COULTER’S SUGGESTION TO DEPORT JOSÉ ANTONIO VARGAS

NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles® )- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump today called for the arrest and deportation of Filipino José Antonio Vargas, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who came out as an undocumented immigrant years ago.

Trump issued the call after conservative columnist Ann Coulter made the suggestion in an interview with Megyn Kelly of FOX News.

Trump, who just arrived in New York after a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border in Laredo, Texas, accepted Coulter’s challenge and asked the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, to implement U.S. immigration laws concerning immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally.

Vargas, who founded the group ‘Define American,’ recently released a documentary, ‘White People’ which aired on MTV.

Meanwhile, conservative blogger Michelle Malkin, a Filipino American, agreed with Coulter about Vargas’ arrest and deportation. “I am a U.S. citizen because I worked hard for it,” Malkin said.  “I had to find a U.S. citizen to marry.”
