THOUSANDS EXPECTED AT GOOGLE+ FUNERAL THIS SUNDAY

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California (The Adobo Chronicles® ) –  Thousands upon thousands of netizen fans are expected to attend the funeral services for Google+ this Sunday.

The funeral, to be held at the Mountain View main campus of Google, was announced after the tech giant decided to kill what it thought would be its answer to the ever-popular social media network Facebook . Years after its launching, Google+,  with 300 Million users, never came close to Facebook’s 1.44 Billion.

“When we launched Google+, we set out to help people discover, share and connect across Google like they do in real life. While we got certain things right, we made a few choices that, in hindsight, we’ve needed to rethink,”  said Bradley Horowitz, Google’s Vice President for Streams, Photos and Sharing.

“People have told us that accessing all of their Google stuff with one account makes life a whole lot easier. But we’ve also heard that it doesn’t make sense for your Google+ profile to be your identity in all the other Google products you use,” Horowitz added.

One of the fans most devastated by the passing of Google+ is John Kiriyama, president of the California state chapter of Google+ Fan Club. “I have no words to express my feelings about this shocking development, he said, “but it was good while it lasted. See you in another lifetime.”

Our condolences to all who were left behind by Google+.  From hereon, it will be referred to as Google Cross on its tombstone marker.

GLITCH: CONSERVATIVES UNABLE TO UPLOAD RAINBOW PRIDE FILTER TO THEIR FACEBOOK PROFILE PHOTOS

SILICON VALLEY, California (The Adobo Chronicles®) – From the Atlantic to the Pacific, from sea to shining sea, rainbow-colored filters are showing up on Facebook pages — all in the name of marriage equality.

Facebook profile photos are now sporting the colors of the gay flag. It all started soon after the U.S. Supreme Court issued its ruling Friday, declaring that marriage is a constitutional right for all — gay or straight.  The popular social network now enables Facebook users to upload the Pride colors that serve as a filter to their profile photos.

But there is huge glitch.

It appears that that if Facebook detects that the user is a conservative, member of the religious right, or has posted anti gay-marriage comments in the past, a different filter is uploaded  and it’s not anything close to the rainbow colors.

Among the first to notice the glitch was Texas Governor Greg Abbott who has criticized the Supreme Court ruling and is asking his constituents to face the ruling with civil disobedience.

Others with similar experience included Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Senator Ted Cruz.

If we were to believe what’s currently trending on Facebook and Twitter, ‘Golden Girl’ Rue McClanahan may just have lived (and died) twice.

Netizens were shocked and saddened by the news that the Emmy-winning actress who brought the sexually liberated Southern belle Blanche Devereaux to life on the hit TV series “The Golden Girls,” has died. She was 76.

This would leave Betty White the only surviving cast member of the hit television show.

The news of McClanahan’s death spread like wildfire despite the fact that critical readers have pointed out that the news circulating worldwide was from 5 years ago.
