APPLE’S iPHONE 6 : FROM BENDGATE TO HAIRGATE

imageCupertino, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Just as Apple’s embarrassing ‘bendgate’ issues were receding from hairlines, er, headlines, a newer – and more painful – problem has emerged regarding its new set of iPhone 6 smartphones: they’re pulling out people’s hair.

Many iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users have complained that their hair is getting caught in the shiny new devices when they make phone calls. When they end their calls and pull their phones away from their faces, their beard and head hairs are being pulled away with them.

This design flaw which many are calling ‘hairgate’ has put another dent on Apple’s new babies and may cost the company millions of dollars in lost revenue and potential lawsuits.

Rather than issue a recall of the new phones, Apple has sent a quick-fix email to all iPhone 6 and 6 Plus owners urging them to use anti-static shampoos or consider shaving their heads and beards.

The suggestion seems to be working just fine and complaints have been significantly reduced since that email from Apple.

CNN WANTS TO HIRE RELIGIOUS SCHOLAR AFTER INFAMOUS BIGOTED SEGMENT

Atlanta, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – After that embarrassing segment in which religious scholar Professor Reza Aslan slammed the bigoted questioning by anchors Don Lemon and Alysin Camerota, CNN says it wants to hire Aslan as a religious consultant.

In that CNN segment, the anchors and Aslan were discussing earlier comments made by Bill Maher on another show criticizing Muslim extremism. Aslan all but lectured Lemon and Camerota who both wouldn’t budge on their line of questioning about whether or not Islam promotes violence.

“It was a segment that we would rather forget,” CNN said, but only after video clips of the interview went viral on the Internet.

CNN said it now acknowledges that Aslan’s breath of knowledge and expetise on the issue of Islam were no match to the limited and simplistic perspective of the anchors. The cable news network added it would like to make up for this gaffe by offering Aslan a consulant position to advise its newsroom about all issues relating to Islam and the Muslim world.

Lemon and Camerota were not pleased with the network’s decision and are seriously  considering jumping ship and moving over to FOX News.

OKRA IS NOW ILLEGAL IN THE U.S.

imageAtlanta, Georgia (The Adobo Chronicles) – Okra, that bright green and slimy vegetable which is a main ingredient in the Filipino dish pinakbet and that popular fried delicacy in many U.S. southern states, has just been declared illegal by the American government.

Georgia police raided a retired Atlanta man’s garden last Wednesday after a helicopter crew with the Governor’s Task Force for Drug Suppression spotted suspicious-looking plants on the man’s property. A heavily-armed K9 unit arrived and discovered that the plants were, in fact, okra bushes.

“Okra looks a lot like marijuana (cannabis) plants so they have to be confiscated or destroyed and their owners prosecuted,” a spokesperson for the Georgia police told reporters.

Okra growers in California and other states were shocked at the new government policy and are planning a million march in Washington, D.C. sometime this month which happens to be Filipino American Heritage Month.

“No one can take away my pinakbet from me,” said Juan dela Cruz, an 88 year-old World War II Filipino veteran who lives in Delano, California.
