OBAMA IS ECSTATIC ABOUT REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED CONGRESS

Washington, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles) – In his first public statement since Tuesday’s midterm elections, President Barack Obama said he was ecstatic about the incoming Republican-controlled U.S. Congress.

“Finally, I won’t have to deal with cowardly Democrats in Congress who have no personal conviction (disclosure: The Adobo Chronicles replaced a 5-letter word originally used by the President in this quote) to do what’s good for the country,” Obama said. “They’re more concerned about protecting their elective and re-elective status by hiding underneath Republican coattails and refusing to advance my agenda and vision for the American people.”

Obama said that with a Republican-controlled Congress, he has a much better chance of calling for an up or down vote on many of his initiatives such as immigration reform, marriage equality, net neutrality and social security, among others. With their majority status, the president thinks that Republicans will gain more confidence that they can defeat his initiatives, and therefore agree to take up the Obama administration’s remaining legislative agenda through 2016.

“I so look forward to exercising my veto powers,” Obama said. So far, Obama has a record of only 2 vetoes during his term. “I want to break the record for the most number of presidential vetoes ever,” he added.

That record belongs to Franklin D. Roosevelt with a total of 635 vetoes.

CORRUPTION CHARGES: PHILIPPINE VP CONFESSES SINS TO BISHOPS

Manila, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – He is under investigation by the Senate for alleged corruption while he was mayor of the city of Makati and for ill-gotten wealth in connection with a massive mansion and real estate property in Batangas, but Philippine Vice President Jejomar Binay has yet to come face to face with Senate investigators.

Today however, Binay – a devout Catholic – met with officials of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines to confess his sins. To Roman Catholics, confession (now known as Reconciliation) is among the revered sacraments that are a pathway to salvation and eternal life.

So is Binay guilty of the charges?

No one will ever know because anything said in the confessional box is – just like what transpires between a therapist and a patient — confidential.

We just have to wait for the Senate investigation to be completed.

AMBER ALERT ISSUED! EBOLA CZAR IS MISSING.

Washington, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles) – The Amber Alert, a U.S. emergency response system, is exclusively designed to deal with child abduction cases. But for the first time, the Federal government has used the system and issued a missing person report for an adult — no less than President Barack Obama’s newly-appointed Ebola Czar.

Since Ron Klain officially started his job on October 22, he has not been seen or heard of. Even reporters at White House briefings have asked questions like: “What’s Ron Klain doing?” or “Is he accomplishing what he was appointed to do?” or “What has he done?” As for the visibly scared American public, the bigger question is : “Where is the Ebola Czar?”

White House press secretary Josh Earnest has explained repeatedly that Klain’s work would principally be “behind the scenes,” offering broad, bland descriptions of his work.

But national law enforcement agencies are not taking Earnest’s words in stride and have issued a national Amber Alert, asking Americans (and non-Americans) to help find Klain. The public is advised to call their nearest police department if they have any sighting of Klain or someone who looks like Klain.

Although the Ebola scare perpetuated by politicians and the media have remained just that — a scare — the national government is not taking any chances in case Klain has been abducted by aliens or by Ebola ghosts.
