Maginhawa Community Pantry Inspires Generosity Among Filipinos

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It started with one community pantry on Maginhawa Street in Quezon City, and it blossomed into hundreds of similar spots all across the country.

The idea behind the community pantry was for anyone to take anything from the makeshift cart according to need, and for others to donate items according to their capacity.

Now, the community pantry has caught the entire Philippines like wildfire, and variations have also been seen in many places.

One community pantry offers free liquor, and another offers free cash. These have been quite popular among both takers and givers.

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Richard Heydarian, GMA News’ self-proclaimed resident political analyst, is scratching his head over a mysterious phenomenon on his Facebook account.

The supposedly anti-Administration media personality suddenly noticed that his 116K + followers had suddenly disappeared. He wondered if he had said something that offended his fans and allies.

To confirm the phenomenon, Heydarian posted a question on his FB page: “Hello, is anyone there?” He waited and waited and waited, but there was zero response — zero likes and zero comments.
