3FA72D02-0EEA-4129-851B-3E4268F96FE7Ever wonder what top politcians, personalities and media folks wish for this Christmas?  Well, wonder no more.

We talked to a random group of famous and infamous Filipinos and here are their responses:

President Duterte: Puksain ang illegal drugs. My gahd, I hate drugs.

CJ Sereno: Please God, don’t let history repeat itself (referring to Corona impeachment).

Maria Ressa: Please God, help me take back the Internet.

Jover Laurio: Bagong anyo, para mawala na ang pagkutya sa akin.

Raissa Robles: Sana i-declare ni DU30 ang Martial Law nationwide, so I could write another book, “Never Again 2.0”

Sass Rogando Sasot: I’m still waiting for that BBC interview!

Thinking Pinoy: Karambola kayong lahat, hindi pa ako tapos!

Adobo Chronicles: Let life continue to imitate satire…

Why Leni Robredo Is Quiet On The Dengue Vaccine Mess

00D57852-C454-46AE-9B1C-3EE6065C6BE7MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) –  It is very unusual for Vice President Leni Robredo to remain quiet on issues of national concern — whether it be Duterte’s War on Drugs or the rehabilitation of Marawi City.

So for Robredo to not issue a statement on the recent scandal involving the Aquino administration’s approval to vaccinate some 700,000 school kids with a new Dengue vaccine  puzzles both supporters and critics of the VP.

We now know that the Dengue vaccine — as admitted by the manufacturer — has the potential of causing more serious Dengue disease among those who had not had a previous Dengue infection.

The Aquino administration approved the Dengue vaccination even prior to the approval/recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Adobo Chronicles caught up with Robredo on as bus she was in, bound for her hometown of Naga City, and we asked her why she hasn’t said a word about the big scandal.

”Well, I choose which important issues to comment on,” the VP said. “It would be a waste of my time to issue a statement on a trivial thing like dried fish.”

7244E81D-7E2F-4E6C-B0CC-95696CD2C487Robredo thought Dengue was the same as the dried fish, Danggit.

Trump, Duterte Named TIME’s Persons Of The Year

NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – It’s that time of year when TIME magazine names its ‘Person of the Year.’  This year, however, it’s going to be ‘Persons of the Year.’

U.S. President Donald Trump and Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte tied for the annual recognition for being the persons who most influenced the news events of 2017.

TIME editors told The Adobo Chronicles that they had a difficult time choosing just one person.

”Both are controversial, but they are also contrasting,” the editors said.

”Case in point, Duterte enjoys a high approval rating of 80 percent, while Trump is at a low 38 percent.”

Both leaders met in person for the first time during the ASEAN Summit held recently in Manila.  Before leaving the Philippines, Trump said of Duterte, “I like him very much.”
