Minneapolis, Minnesota – Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann and Arizona Governor Jan Brewer have been best of friends, sharing the same conservative views and supporting each other’s bid for elective positions and idiotic policies. That is about to change.

Bachmann told reporters today that she has ‘unfriended’ Brewer on her Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages over the governor’s veto of the controversial Arizona bill that would legalize discrimination against the gay population.

Hours before Brewer’s veto announcement, Bachmann went on CNN and told Wolf Blitzer that she supports the right of people with sincere religious beliefs to refuse business services to gay men and women. “This country needs to be tolerant of religious  beliefs,” she told Blitzer. Bachmann is rumored to launch a second attempt to gain the Republication nomination for president in 2016.

Asked by The Adobo Chronicles about her reaction to the unfriending, Brewer said: “Good riddance. Michele’s posts are boring anyway.” She adds: “This makes it an easier decision for me to challenge her for the 2016 presidential nomination. Now that I have become so popular for vetoing the Arizona bill, I think I have a much better chance than Michele to be the GOP nominee. For one I know that I now have 100% support from the Log Cabin Republicans.” (Log Cabin Republicans are a segment of the GOP supporting the rights of lgbt Americans)

AQUINO ADMINISTRATION ON OLYMPIAN MICHAEL MARTINEZ’S REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL HELP: ‘WE DO NOT OPEN SPAM’

imageManila, Philippines  – The administration of Philippine President NoyNoy Aquino continues to go on the defensive as more and more people have criticized the government’s zero financial support for Filipino figure skater Michael Christian Martinez. The lone Filipino athlete in the Sochi Winter Olympics made an impressive Olympic debut last week, finishing 19th out of 24 skaters. He is the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to qualify for the Olympic figure skating competition.

Martinez’s mother said that she had sent Malacañang, the Philippine Presidential Palace, a request for help to finance her son’s participation in the Olympics but never received a response. image13.jpg

Today, presidential spokesperson Herminio Coloma said that the request “may have come into Malacañang as ‘spam,’  and that per our policy, we do not open spams. We receive hundreds and hundreds of  requests, gifts and what have you, including imported cans of SPAM, but for security reasons we never open canned goods or other wrapped gifts.”

SENATOR NANCY BINAY CONGRATULATES MICHAEL CHRISTIAN MARTINEZ FOR WINNING OLYMPIC GOLD

imageManila, Philippines – Philippine Senator Nancy Binay stayed past her usual bedtime so she could be among the first to learn the fate of the Philippines’ lone representative to the Sochi Winter Olympics who was scheduled to skate in the men’s final program last night, Philippine time.

Binay and her excited aides intensely watched, cheered, and screamed as Michael Christian Martinez executed his free skate routine to the music of “Malagueña.” They sighed as Martinez touched the ice with his hands after performing a triple axel. Martinez skated 3rd among the first group of finalists.

When the screen flashed the standings after the sixth skater, it showed Martinez in first place.

Pandemonium filled Binay’s TV room in her plush residence in  Makati and champagne flowed endlessly.

Binay then asked her aide to put in a call to Martinez’s cell phone so that she can personally congratulate him on behalf of the Filipino people for winning the Philippines’ first ever gold medal at the Olympics.  She got Martinez’s voicemail and left a congratulatory message. “I’m very proud of you Michael,” she said, “and I will make sure you will come home to a huge welcome parade when you return to Manila.”

Martinez, of course was unavailable to answer his cell phone because he was at the Iceberg Skating Pavilion watching the other 18 competitors still to skate. Martinez ended in 19th place when the competition was concluded.

Nancy Binay is from the family of elected politicans that includes the Philippine Vice President, the mayor of Makati, and a Congresswoman.
