Mexico’s President Denies Filing For Divorce, Legalizing Same-Sex Marriage

image.jpegMEXICO CITY, Mexico (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – Rumors have been circulating on social media these past few days that Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto has filed for divorce and that has made same-sex marriage a law in his country.

Nieto said that same-sex marriage is not yet legal in Mexico.  All he has done is to propose legislation legalizing it to Mexico’s Congress of the Union.

As far as rumors about his divorce is concerned, Nieto said he remains faithful and committed to his wife and 4 children.

“If ever I decide to file for divorce, you will read it first in The Adobo Chronicles,” the good-looking president said.

The Curious Case Of Alma Moreno’s Vanishing Twitter Page

image.jpegQUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Now you see it, now you don’t.  And will you ever see it again?

This is the curious case of senatorial candidate and Parañaque City Councilor Alma Moreno’s Twitter Account.

The ex-film actress has been  busy posting comments on her account in the days leading up to and after Monday’s Philippine elections.

Some of her popular tweets:

“Whoever wins tomorrow will be declared the winner”

“@Comelec, sana next election, bunutan na lang” (hopefully, next election will be determined by a raffle drawing)

“I conceive. Good night!” (When she conceded defeat)

But today, Moreno’s fans and followers who tried to visit her Twitter page got a strange message that her account has been suspended.

Did Twitter suspend her account because her posts were offensive to the Filipinos?  Or did she voluntarily close her account because she could not cope with the unbelievable page traffic she was getting?

Moreno could not be reached for comment.

Everyone now knows that Moreno lost her senatorial bid by a landscape… we mean by a landslide.
