DFA To Provide Filipinos With Free Cruise To Canada

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Philippines’ Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin is  making good on his promise to help expedite the migration of Filipinos who are disappointed with results of the May 13 midterm elections in which the entire Opposition Senatorial slate was practically wiped out.

Locsin announced that the Philippine and Canadian governments have signed a Memorandum of Agreement whereby Filipinos wanting to immigrate to Canada will be accommodated in the containers of trash that will be shipped back to Canada.

The shipment consists or containers of trash that were shipped to the Philippines from Canada years ago under the guise of being recyclable plastic.

Earlier, President Rodrigo Dutete threatened to declare war on Canada if it didn’t take back its trash immediately.

Philippine envoys in Canada have been recalled as a consequence of the trash conflict.

Locsin told The Adobo Chronicles that Filipinos who will be shipped to Canada with the trash won’t spend a single dime, and that they will be exempted from securing a visa for entry into Canada.

A pretty good deal that can’t be refused!

Bluff Diplomacy: Canada Offers To Take Back Its Trash Shipped To The Philippines

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For many years, dozens of containers of trash and toxic waste shipped from Canada have been sitting idle in the Port of Manila. The shipment was supposed to contain recyclable plastic.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has had it, so he threatened to declare war on Canada if the trash aren’t  shipped back ASAP.

Well…

Canada has made an offer to the Philippines to repatriate six dozen shipping containers full of rotting garbage that were erroneously shipped there six years ago, the federal environment minister said recently.

If the offer is accepted, the trash would return to Canada through the port of Vancouver before disposal.

The previous Aquino administration used channels at the United Nations to resolve its international conflict with China. Didn’t work.

Duterte used bluff diplomacy to put an end to a long-standing issue with Canada, and it worked!

Aristocrat Restaurant To Serve Free Meals To Volunteers Of Manila Bay Cleanup

A81EA3D5-065B-4BF0-949E-B8B4EE3D6E9AMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In an effort to make amends, Aristocrat along Roxas Boulevard wants to offer free meals to all volunteers of the Manila Bay cleanup, in exchange for the rescinding of DENR’s cease and desist order for the restaurant’s continued operation.

Aristocrat was among establishments tagged and ordered closed by DENR for contributing to the pollution of Manila Bay.

A spokesperson for Aristocrat told The Adobo Chronicles that they will serve their famous barbecue chicken with java rice and atchara (pickled green papaya) to all those who volunteer to help in the clearnup on weekends.

Aristocrat’s move is in sharp contrast to Manila City Hall’s recent announcement that those who volunteer to help in the Manila Bay clearnup need to secure a permit.
