Leni Robredo On Mayor Magalong: From Admirable to UNADMIRABLE

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo was all praises for Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong when he resigned as the Inter-Agency Task Force’s (IATF) Contact Tracing Czar after that embarrassing Tim Yap birthday party which he attended. The party was cited for violation of Covid health protocols mandated by the IATF.

Robredo said Magalong’s resignation was ‘admirable’ and a good example for public officials.

But then, Magalong later said that despite his “irrevocable” resignation, he would consider staying on as Contact Tracing Czar if President Rodrigo Duterte wants him to.

Today, Robredo did a complete turnaround and called Magalong “unadmirable.”

Moral of the story for Robredo: Don’t rush to judgment. Take a deep breath and count from 1 to 10 before issuing public statements.

Leni Robredo, Maria Ressa, Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize!

OSLO, Norway (The Adobo Chronicles, Berlin Bureau) – Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo and Rappler CEO Maria Ressa were nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for their war-related efforts.

Robredo was nominated for her courageous move to right a wrong in world history. She recently revised the period of World War II from 1939-1945 to 1939-1947. “War truths are important to peace efforts “ the nomination stated.

Ressa, on the other hand, was nominated for her reporting and business efforts in the erstwhile Philippine war zone, a claim that she has courageously espoused in her defense against criminal and other charges filed against her and as well as in her attacks against the government of President Rodrigo Duterte. “Navigating the truth in a war zone during peace time is a heroism to the first degree” the nomination said of Ressa.

The duo was nominated by Parliamentarian-wanna-be and aspiring United Nations magistrate Antonio Trillanes.

Robredo: Enough With Government Propaganda, Distribute spaghetti!

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Vice President Leni Robredo chided the Duterte Administration for what she called government “propaganda” in dealing with the country’s problems, including the decline in Gross National Product (GDP).

“Enough with propaganda,”she told online news source Rappler. “What we need is real action.”

Robredo said the Office of the Vice President has, all along, been focused on real solutions to the country’s problems, including hunger and poverty. She cited as an example, OVP’s recent distribution of servings of spaghetti to needy residents of San Mateo, Rizal.

No propaganda. Just spaghetti.
