MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – One can only imagine a day in the prison life of Senator Leila De Lima. Kept in solitary confinement. No access to the outside world. Non-nutritious meals. No Exercise. Nada, Nothing, Zilch.
So The Adobo Chronicles investigative team visited De Lima. Unannounced. We wanted to capture what a day looks like for the incarcerated Senator.
Here are the highlights:
Freedom to write notes and issue statements using official Senate stationery.
Access to Senate resolutions and the opportunity to sign them (the latest was the Senate resolution asking the Supreme Court to review its decision to oust Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.
Freedom to tweet and retweet.
Occasional requests for saging na saba for her snack or dessert.
Freedom to accept food delivery from ChowKing, courtesy of Kris Aquino.
Freedom to wear her favorite wardrobe — including her signature scarf — instead of the orange or striped prison garb.
Daily cold showers.
Freedom to attend Zumba classes at Camp Crame and we have a video to prove it:
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Public Relations firms, like that of DDI Strategic Communications (owned by PNoy spokesperson Edwin Lacierda), encounter many challenges in their day-to-day work. Especially when they’re dealing with unknowns like Agot Isidro.
DDI was asked to produce a poster announcing that the Liberal Party/Resistance Coalition has tapped Isidro — the actress who once called President Duterte a ‘psychopath’ — to run for Senator in 2019.
The series of posters (see photo) shows that DDI incorrectly printed Agot’s name twice before it finally got it on the third try.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It’s a campaign that boomeranged.
Solita Monsod called on Filipinos to write letters to the Supreme Court Justices to protest their ruling to oust Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, claiming that people power is more powerful than the people in power.
Incarcerated Senator Leila De Lima retweeted Monsod’s message and asked her supporters to write the letters to convince the Justices to reconsider their 8-6 vote.
Enter Bongbong Marcos who has a pending petition before the Supreme Court in connection with his claim that he was cheated out of the Vice Presidential elections in 2016.
So, Marcos launched his own campaign asking his supporters to write letters to the SC Justices to consider him the duly-elected Vice President of the Philippines.
”Eh kung puwede palang basta sumulat sa SC Justices to influence their rulings or decisions, di sali na rin ako diyan” Marcos told The Adobo Chronicles.
