In Rio, Athletes Compete To Be Top, In Sao Paolo, The Race Is To Be Bottom (Parental Guidance)

image.jpegRIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (The Adobo Chronicles, Sao Paolo Bureau) – The fierce competition among the athletes at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio is focused on the gold medal, to be the top.  In Sao Paolo, Brazil’s largest city, the contest is to be bottom.

Twenty-seven women competing to win the title of best bottom in Brazil got into the Olympic spirit yesterday by running in their own 100-metre sprint – in nothing but skimpy bikinis. They ran down the famous Avenida Paulista, Sao Paolo’s main street.

The women are all hopefuls for the title of Miss Bumbum, Brazil’s most popular beauty pageant for those “left behind.”

While the parade of beauties delighted thousands upon thousands of spectators, one particular lady who was recently spotted watching the women’s gymnastics in Rio, was not a happy camper.

You guessed it right. Kim Kardashian!

Solving The Traffic Problem: Philippine City To Replace Jeepneys With Horses

Passenger jeepney, left, and horses in Wright Park

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – Traffic congestion is a huge problem not only in Metro Manila, but in other major cities in the Philippines, including Baguio, the country’s summer capital.

Solving the nightmarish traffic is one of President Rod Duterte’s priorities in his first 100 days in office and has encouraged local officials to come up with alternative means of transportation to decongest the roadways while  reducing pollution. Baguio City officials have come up with a brilliant proposal that would do just that.

The plan is to phase out dilapidated jeepneys with horses which would better utilize the city’s huge equestrian population.

One of Baguio’s most popular tourist attractions is horseback-riding, largely concentrated in Wright Park, across from the Philippine president’s summer residence, Mansion House.

Officials said an alternative proposal to replace jeepneys with tricycles (pedicabs) would not be feasible considering Baguio’s hilly terrain. Horses, would be perfect, they said.

Part of the plan is to employ additional street cleaners to collect horse manure in designated routes  which, in turn, will be donated to fruit and vegetable growers in Baguio and neighboring La Trinidad Valley.

“It’s a win-win situation,” the officials said. “We will solve the traffic problem while boosting organic farm production.”

HONOLULU, Hawaii (The Adobo Chronicles, Hawaii Bureau) – Move over, Philippine carrot man, you’ve got some serious competition in Hawaii.

Many will recall the young man from the Philippines’ Mountain Province, Jeyrick Sigmaton, whose snap shot photo went viral because of his good looks.  The rest is history, as Sigmaton now appears on television and has earned a modeling career.

Now, another Internet sensation is brewing.  He’s not just a carrot man, he’s also a banana and green veggie man.  His name is Chris Lee, from the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

We doubt, however, that he will leave his day job for a career in modeling or film and TV.  He is a state legislator, representing Kailua and Waimanalo.

Well, if his photo goes viral worldwide, he might just reconsider! So, share away…
