BEIJING, China (The Adobo Chronicles, Tokyo Bureau) – Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. has just been proclaimed the Philippines’ Vice President. This, despite having lost the May elections to Leni Robredo.
No less than Rodrigo Roa Duterte proclaimed Marcos in a gathering of the Filipino community in Beijing China, where the president is on an official state visit. Marcos, along with his sister, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, joined in Duterte’s China visit.
Duterte, however, qualified the proclamation, saying that Bongbong will be the new vice president if he wins his electoral protest.
The former senator has filed a protest, claiming that he, not Robredo, won the election for vice president.
There has yet been no decision on his protest.
