DALY CITY, California (The Adobo Chronicles, San Francisco Bureau) – The members of the United Methodist Church in Daly City, California, loved his speech so much, they wouldn’t let Philippine Senator Antonio Trillanes go back to the Philippines.
He spoke earlier this week about the current situation in his country under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a hastily-called general prayer meeting, members unanimously voted to appoint Trillanes as pastor, replacing their current church leader who is retiring.
”He is the perfect man to lead our church,” said one member, “because his ideas about humility, kindness and financial accountability are a perfect fit us. I am confident that he will lead our church to renewed vigor.”
Trillanes, realizing his uncertain future as Philippine Senator, immediately accepted the appointment.
