Philippines’ VP Rewrites History, extending WW II By Two Years.

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Leni Robredo, the Philippines’ Vice President, is not only a math and economics expert, she’s also a historian!

In her radio show yesterday, she said that her country’s GDP under the coronavirus pandemic, is the worst since 1947 — during the war.

All along, world historians have written that World War II began in 1939 and ended in 1945. But Robredo thinks the war extended well into 1947!

DepEd Approves New online ModuLe On Philippine History

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Philippines’ Department of Education (DepEd) has come under fire for learning modules released under its non face-to-face classes. Parents have complained that some of the modules contained glaring errors, math and grammar lapses, and inaccuracies.

DepEd may have gotten it right this time by releasing its latest online mudule that teaches school kids and adults alike on the history of the discovery of the Philippines by Ferdinand Magellan who was killed by Lapu-Lapu.

The release comes right on the commemoration of the 5th centennial of the Battle of Mactan and the issuance of a new P5,000 Philippine currency honoring Lapu-Lapu.

IN OBSERVANCE OF JOSE RIZAL DAY, LENI ROBREDO WILL REENACT ROLE OF SISA VIA FACEBOOK LIVE

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – She is done saluting the Jose Rizal Monument in Luneta. Been there. Done that. This year, in observance of the national hero’s day, Vice President Leni Robredo is doing something different.

Sources close to the Office of the Vice President tell The Adobo Chronicles that on December 30, Robredo will go on Facebook Live and reenact scenes from Rizal’s ‘Noli Me Tangere,’ particularly the role of Sisa.

In Rizal’s novel, Sisa, unable to stand up to her abusive husband, and later the Guardia Civil, went from one traumatic event to another, causing her to eventually lose her sanity due to the mental burden. This insanity manifested in her wandering around San Diego, calling out her children’s names, and singing songs out of nowhere.

Robredo’s co-host of her weekly radio show, Ka Ely, said that the VP is perfect for the role. Playing an insane woman is not an easy chore, he said. “But all Leni needs to do is to act as her crazy herself.”
