Duterte Offers Malacañang Post To Critic Carlos Celdran

IMG_2240MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte is known to be very accommodating, even to his harshest critics. He holds no grudge against them and that’s why he had appointed VP Leni Robredo from the opposition party to a Cabinet position as Housing Czar.

Now, Duterte has announced that performance artist and tour guide Carlos Celdran will join his trusted staff in Malacañang.

Celdran is openly critical of Duterte and his administration and is closely associated with the Yellow Party.  The latest rumor about Celdran was that he was spreading “news” that the president was in a coma, after he disappeared from public view for a few days beginning last June 12, Philippine Independence Day.

Celdran has been appointed as Malacañang tour guide, with a Cabinet rank.

“With his knowledge about history, politics and Philippine culture, he is the best person to be appointed to this critical position,” the Malacañang announcement said.

Trillanes, Hontiveros, et. al., Want A Senate Hearing On U.S. Destroyer Collision Off Japan

IMG_2239MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The new Senate minority bloc, known as Voltes V, has called for a hearing on the recent collision between a U.S. Destroyer and a Philippines-registered cargo ship off the coast of Japan.

The destroyer suffered heavy damage, injuries and possible casualties.

“We owe it to our good friend Donald Trump to show him that we, the duly-elected senators of the Philippines, are very concerned about the freak accident,” a statement from the block said.

IMG_1850Voltes V is composed of Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon and Senators Antonio Trillanes IV, Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, and Bam Aquino.

“We haven’t had a Senate hearing for the last few days now, so this is the perfect opportunity to who our constituents and supporters that we are working very hard to live up to their expectations,” Hontiveros told The Adobo Chronicles.

Trillanes added that they want to know whether or not the captain of the cargo vessel had a valid driver’s license from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) as well as a current vehicle insurance. “More importantly” he said, “we want to know if President Duterte had anything to do with the collision.”

Now It Can Be Told: Duterte Was, Indeed, In A Comma

IMG_2238MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Rumormonger Carlos Celdran and others were correct after all in spreading on social media that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s absence from public view in past days, including from the Independence Day rites last June 12, was because he was in a coma.

Except that it was more of a comma — not coma.  He needed a little pause from all his hard work and lack of sleep.  He had to re-energize and recoup.

But now he’s baaaaack!

Celdran and company must now be in a comatose themselves from embarrassment.
