MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has lifted its one-month suspension on UBER after the ride-hailing firm paid almost $10 million in fine and financial aid to its drivers affected by the halted operations.
LTFRB had halted UBER’s operations for a month from Aug. 14 for violating an order to stop accepting new driver applications.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Department of Labor and Employment has banned the mandatory use of high-heeled shoes among female workers. The Department’s order all but bans shoes with heels that are higher than an inch.
A DOLE (the Department, not the pineapple company) official said that the agency has issued implementing guidelines to implement its ban.
Among the guidelines is a suggestion to allow female workers to use elevated flat shoes in lieu of high heels. (See photo.)
