LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson has no qualms about returns. When controversy erupted over her award from the University of Santo Tomas Alumni Association, she gladly returned it.
Shortly thereafter, Uson was again the subject of ridilcule when she stated that Mayon Volcano was located in Naga City, Camarines Sur.
So, to silence her critics, she organized a team of her avid supporters to return Mayon Volcano to its rightful place — in Albay. And the volunteers did it Bayanihan style!
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – In a move that shocked the news and social media circles, President Rodrigo Duterte today fired Harry Roque and in his stead, appointed a Davao taxi driver as his new spokesperson.
Elcias Bugsad, who speaks and sounds like Duterte, took over the position of Roque.
A statement from Malacañang said that the President was very impressed with Bugsad’s mimicry of him, as shown in a video of the taxi driver that immediately went viral on social media.
Malacañang said that Duterte could not think of any better person to be his spokesperson than one who sounds and speaks like him.
QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Students of the University of the Philippines in Diliman and other parts of the country will be required to reimburse the government for their free tuition if they want to graduate.
President Rodrigo Duterte issued an Executive Order that would in effect cancel the free tuition status of U.P. students who waste taxpayer money by walking out of their classes to protest against the very government that gives them free education.
”If they want to continue protesting against the government, they should transfer to Ateneo University, De La Salle University or St. Scholastica’s College,” Duterte said. “It is about time we spend taxpayer money wisely.’
