BAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Baguio Bureau) – All eyes were on Vice President Leni Robredo during the graduation ceremonies at the Philippine Military Academy last weekend.

No, not because she was seated right next to President Rodrigo Duterte, but because of what she was wearing — an exclusive design by her personal wardrobe consultant.

The one-piece, knee-length maroon dress was highlighted by a white lace front mantle. Robredo felt her outfit was stunning.D889A01F-2238-4F2F-8C13-E34A2DE043BE

But when a netizen posted a photo which may have inspired the design of Robredo’s dress, all hell broke loose.

The VP immediately fired the unnamed consultant ( No, it wasn’t her spokesperson Georgina Hernandez).

Pope Francis Issues ‘Cease and Desist’ Order Against Filipino Activist Nun

3CB4A1B6-00FC-4A60-A119-D208C0A58951THE VATICAN (The Adobo Chronicles, Rome Bureau) – Religious priests and nuns have a vow to look after the spiritual well-being of people, not their politics.

Pope Francis issued this reminder to the Catholic clergy as he issued a ‘Cease and Desist’ order against Filipino activist nun, Sister Mary John Mananzan.

Mananzan, former head of St. Scholarstica’s College in Manila, has been in political news lately, criticizing the Duterte administration for what she calls an attack on the opposition.

The nun is also reportedly behind political protests and rallies staged by students of St. Scholastica.

”Give unto Caesar what’s due to him and to God what’s due to God,” Francis told Mananzan. “Leave politics to the politicians, and focus on religious vow and mission.”
