DepEd, DOH To Give Away Free iPhone X To Families Of Dengvaxia Vaccinees

F97285E9-1956-47C6-9870-6D1C9758FC15MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Of what good is a mobile app if one does not have a mobile device? This is the dilemma now faced by the Department of Education and Department of Health after they proudly announced the launching of a new app for use by families of children who were vaccinated with Dengvaxia.

Parents, guardians and even teachers of students who had been given the Dengvaxia vaccine may now report the youngsters’ condition through two mobile applications designed to help monitor their symptoms and other health problems.

The Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Health (DOH) on Monday unveiled the two apps, Abizo and Kaizala, which were customized with tools to monitor students through reports from the users.

The apps will allow the monitoring of the students’ status in real time, Education Undersecretary Alain Pascua said.

So, responding to criticism, DepEd and DOH jointly told The Adobo Chronicles they had placed an order with Apple for 1 Million new, iPhone X smartphones to be distributed to families of Dengvaxia vaccinees.  The units, with the Dengvaxia app pre-installed,  will be given out for free.

Each iPhone X costs an estimated P65,000.

DepEd and DOH go high-tech!

What Philippine Legislators Will Wear For SONA 2018

702EF578-7DEC-42A1-B697-0AE99D9C9B08.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 23, 2018 will be the shortest by President Rodrigo Duterte, assuming he sticks to script.  It will also mark the third year in a row that former President NoyNoy Aquino will skip the event.

While the traditional Red Carpet has been scratched, governnment officials and guests are expected to don business attires, except for Senators and Representatives who are required by Congress rules to wear “Filipiniana.”

Some legislators are taking this to heart, literally.

The Adobo Chronicles polled some of our legislators to get a glimpse of what they will be wearing to the SONA:

Senator Antonio Trillanes will borrow a yellow terno previously worn by Senator Risa Hontiveros.

Senator Bam Aquino will borrow cousin Kris Aquino’s yellow and black gown she wore to a Malacañang event years ago.

Senator Franklin Drilon will do an activist Filipinana attire, with an idea borrowed from Mae Paner, a.k.a. Juana Change.

Ifugao Representative Ted Baguilat, Jr. will stick to his roots by wearing a traditional Igorot dress.

Senator Kiko Pangilinan will borrow a Halloween costume previously worn by wife Sharon Cuneta and will do a “Darna.”

Something borrowed, something Filipiniana!

Kris Aquino Confident Her Brother NoyNoy Won’t Go To Jail For Dengvaxia Mess. Here’s Why…

16751789-3217-4821-B34C-133FA23D0858.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Kris Aquino reportedly just sent another text message to President Rodrigo Duterte asking him not to jail her brother  NoyNoy for the Dengvaxia mess.

Kris’ text came just hours after it was reported that the National Bureau of Investigation has filed a complaint before the Ombudsman recommending the investigation and prosecution of PNoy and other Aquino administration officials for the botched Dengvaxia vaccination program.

This is the second time that Kris sent Duterte a text message.  The first time, as revealed by the President himself, was when the self-proclaimed Queen of All Media pleaded that her brother not be jailed for the Mamasapano massacre incident.

The Adobo Chronicles asked Kris why she was confident that Duterte would not jail her borther.  She responded:

”Remember during a recent radio interview regarding Mocha Uson’s social media post of a video of my dad Ninoy being kissed by two women? Well you know that Bong Go apologized and I said during that interview that  “friends na kami ni PRRD.”

”So I am very confident that my friend PRRD will not jail my brother for Mamasapano or for Dengvaxia,” Kris said.
