MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It was only a few days ago that Harry Roque slammed NFA Administrator Jason Aquino for what the Presidential Spokesperson believed was the reason why President Rodrigo Duterte’s approval rating declined in the latest Pulse Asia Survey.
Now, the same Roque is praising the same Aquino for a new survey, this time from the Social Weather Stations (SWS), showing Duterte’s satisfaction rating increasing by 5 percentage points from the previous survey.
”I think the Filipino people are now beginning to see a marked improvement in the supply and prices of NFA rice, thanks to the arrival of rice imports . Their stomachs are now full so there is no longer any reason for them to be dissatisfied with this administration, and we owe a debt of gratitude to Jason Aquino,” Roque said.
In speaking with The Adobo Chronicles, Roque admitted that he was too quick to pass judgment on Aquino. “ Instead, I should have blamed this administration’s silence and inaction on the Dengvaxia issue for the decline in Duterte’s rating in the Pulse Asia Survey,” Roque concluded.
Moral of the story: think before you speak.
