‘GOLDEN GIRL’ RUE MCCLANAHAN DIES (AGAIN) AT 81

imageHOLLYWOOD, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – Many will remember the 1967 James Bond film, ‘You Only Live Twice,’ with its theme song that says you live “one life for yourself and one for your dream.’

If we were to believe what’s currently trending on Facebook and Twitter, ‘Golden Girl’ Rue McClanahan may just have lived (and died) twice.

Netizens were shocked and saddened by the news that the Emmy-winning actress who brought the sexually liberated Southern belle Blanche Devereaux to life on the hit TV series “The Golden Girls,” has died. She was 76.

This would leave Betty White the only surviving cast member of the hit television show.

The news of McClanahan’s death spread like wildfire despite the fact that critical readers have pointed out that the news circulating worldwide was from 5 years ago.

SEVERAL JOB OFFERS AWAIT KRIS AQUINO WHEN SHE MOVES TO THE U.S. IN 2016

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – Television host and presidential sister Kris Aquino is moving to the United States in 2016. This is no gossip, but something straight from the horse’s mouth.

Aquino, who lived in Boston during her late father Ninoy Aquino’s self-imposed exile, admitted those years were the happiest times of her life.  She said she wanted her son Bimby to experience the American lifestyle like riding the bus to school. She added that her own experience in America made her a well-rounded individual and she wished the same for her kid.

Upon hearing the news, several U.S. employers immediately offered Aquino guaranteed jobs upon her arrival. These include:

  • Cashier at Jollibee in San Jose, California
  • Dishwasher at Max’s Restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Assistant cake maker at Goldilock’s Bakeshop in Los Angeles
  • Baggage inspector at the Boston’s Logan International Airport
  • Mail sorter at a U.S. Post Office processing facility just outside of Washington, D.C.
  • File clerk at FOREX Balikbayan Box Forwarders in Chicago, Illinois.

The Adobo Chronicles reached out to Aquino at her residence in Quezon City last night and she told us that she would prefer to work with OWN, Oprah Winfrey’s cable television network. After all, she considers herself the Oprah Winfrey of the Philippines.

No word yet from Winfrey.

ASIAN AMERICAN GROUPS UPSET ABOUT THE CASTING OF EMMA STONE IN ‘ALOHA’ TURN THE HEAT ON BEAUTY PAGEANTS

HOLLYWOOD, California ( The Adobo Chronicles) – Frustrated that their protest about the casting of Emma Stone as a quarter Chinese and quarter Hawaiian in the film, ‘Aloha’ is not getting as much mileage as they had hoped, Asian American groups are turning the heat on international beauty pageants to make their point.

The groups are crying ‘foul’ about director-writer Cameron Crowe’s decision to cast a red-haired, blue-eyed white actress to play the half Asian-Hawaiian and part Swedish Allison Ng in the film.

In a joint press statement issued today, the groups likened Stone’s casting to:

  • 2014 Miss World from the Philippines, Megan Young, who looks more Caucasian than Filipino and whose name is anything but Filipino.
  • 2015 Miss Universe-Japan, Ariana Miyamoto, whose features are more black than Japanese (Miyamoto was born to a Japanese mother and a black father).
  • 2015 Miss Universe-Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach who, despite looking like a Filipina, is half-German, as evidenced by her surname.

“It’s about time films and beauty pageants reflect the true features and identities of the characters or contestants they are supposed to ethnically represent,” the groups said.

Neither Crowe nor the pageant organizers could be reached for comment.
