SENATOR NANCY BINAY WILL WEAR AN ALFREDO BARRAZA DESIGN FOR SONA

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles® ) – Senator Nancy Binay, daughter of Philippine Vice President Jejomar Binay, was the epicenter of jokes at last year’s presidential State of the National Address (SONA) for wearing a gown that made her look like an air balloon.

On Monday, July 27, at President NoyNoy Aquino’s final SONA, Binay is making sure that there will not be a repeat embarrassment from last year.

She proudly announced that she will walk this year’s red carpet wearing a gown designed by Colombian Alfredo Barraza, the same artist who designed MJ Lastimosa’s evening gown at the last Miss Universe pageant in Florida. Lastimosa wore a multi-colored gown and headdress that made her look like a giant meringue wedding cake.

Binay, however, refused to divulge the theme and design of her gown, except to say that it will have the colors of the Philippine flag — red, white, blue and yellow. “I don’t want to spoil the surprise,” she said.

ENGLAND TOWN BANS MANKINIS

LONDON, England (The Adobo Chronicles) – There ain’t no party like a mankini party, but the mankini parties… must be stopped, and a town in Cornwall, England did just that.

Newquay has outlawed the male bathing suits popularized by Borat, and has since noticed a significant improvement in the town’s economy. Tourists who have stayed away from the town because they were offended by the manikinis are now back in droves.

Many Brits, however, are crying ‘foul,’ and have accused the town of male bias. “The mankini is not that much more offensive than the female bikinis,” they said. “The private parts that are supposed to be covered are covered, just like with female bikinis, so we don’t understand what the big deal is,” they added.

They, however, failed to address the posterior end of the equation.

V-NECK T-SHIRTS A SIGN OF BEING GAY, ACCORDING TO THE AMERICAN PSYCHIATRIC ASSOCIATION

ANAHEIM, California (The Adobo Chronicles) – At its annual national convention last year, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) officially classified the taking of ‘selfies’ as a mental disorder, calling it ‘selfitis,’ or the inflammation of the ego.

This week, APA is holding its 2015 convention at a famed Disneyland resort in Anaheim, and is expected to announce the results of a major study on homosexuality, particularly among gay men.

The Adobo Chronicles was able to get hold of an embargoed copy of the study scheduled to be released this Friday.

The groundbreaking study concludes that one of the telltale signs of being gay is owning and wearing v-neck t-shirts. V-neck t-shirts are the closest thing to low-cleavage shirts and dresses worn by women, the study pointed out.

Highlights of the APA findings include:

The lower the cut of the neckline, the more open and outgoing the gay man is.
White or black v-necks are usually worn by gay men who are mostly still in the closet.
Loud or bright-colored v-necks are an indication of gay radicalism.
Sleeveless v-neck, regardless of color, is a cautionary sign that the gay man has inner, deep secrets.

The APA study seems to give credence to recent guidelines issued by the Teachers Foundation of Malaysia advising parents on how to detect whether or not their son is gay, not the least of which is the wearing of v-necks.
