WASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – The Washington Post is reporting that the Trump administration has banned officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from using these seven words in budget documents

  • evidence-based
  • science-based
  • vulnerable
  • entitlement
  • diversity
  • transgender
  • fetus

So, before Trump permanently says “You’re fired!” to these seven words, The Adobo Chronicles would like to use all of them in one sentence.  Perhaps for the last time:

In an apparent move to discredit evidence-based and science-based informaton, U.S. Donald Trump showed off his Presidential entitlement by admonishing vulnerable health officials to refrain from supporting diversity that could endanger the transgender fetus.

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has signed the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act which mandates free tuition at 112 state universities and colleges (SCUs) throughout the country.

However, upon the recommendation of the Department of Education, the new law signed by Duterte has dropped the University of the Philippines in Diliman from the free-tuition SCU list.

The decision to start charging tuition at UP Diliman was based on the campus’ increasing involvement in public protests and rallies.

“It is no longer an institution of higher learning, but rather a center for taxpayer-funded political activism,” Education Secretary Leonore Briones.”

The funds saved from this move will be used to provide scholarships to deserving but poor students who may not live in cities where there are SCUs, Briones said.

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) –  Anti-Duterte blogger Raissa Robles has a lot more reason to be worried these days.  Her book on the Marcos Martial Law faces some competition.  Serious competition.

Today, Malacañang announced the release of a new book on Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, a self-help book for dummies.

It is not intended for general audiences.  Rather, it is aimed at educating the 15% or so of Filipinos who are still opposing the president and his reform programs, or who are just waiting on the sidelines.

“This book is intended to give the readers a straightforward and factual understanding of Duterte the man, the mayor, the president and the true Filipino,” a Malacañang spokesperson said.

For its book launching, complimentary copies of the book will be personally delivered to staunch anti-Duterte fanatics like Raissa Robles, Maria Ressa, Pia Ranada, Jim Paredes, Cynthia Patag, Leah Navarro, as well as the offices of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senators Antonio Trillanes, Franklin Drilon, Risa Hontiveros, Kiko Pangilinan and Bambam Aquino.

The new book is expected to quickly jump to the New York Times’ No.1 Best Selling Book.
