MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – There is Press Freedom in the Philippines (too much, in fact), but there is also a limit to what one can express, especially on social media.
Pinoy Ako Blog’s Jover Laurio learned this lesson well when she was arrested by authorities on charges of cyber crime. Not just cyber crime, but wishing death on President Rodrigo Duterte and his family.
Authorities did not need any witnesses to the charges. Laurio herself provided the “resibo” :
“A death wish is a death wish is a death wish,” said a spokesperson for the arresting authorities.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Asec Mocha Uson was very gracious in returning the Thomasian Award given to her by the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Alumni Association.
Uson made the move after the USTAAI received intense public criticism for its decision to honor her for government service.
But alas, UST has decided to take back Uson’s diploma after she mistakenly said that Mayon Volcano was in Naga City.
A UST spokesperson said that university standards dictate that graduates should at least know their basic Philippine geography.
MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Leave it to R.J. Nieto, a.k.a. Thinking Pinoy (TP), to utilize his amazing research and investigative skills to finally expose the naked truth that Pinoy Ako Blog’s Jover Laurio and ‘investigative’ journalist Raissa Robles are one and the same person.
TP has come up with this shocking conclusion which he will formally reveal on the next Karambola broadcast.
While refusing to give details of his upcoming exposé, TP told The Adobo Chronicles that one of the strongest evidence to back up his allegation is that Laurio and Robles have never been seen in public together.
Quite convincing proof, we might say!
As for his next project? TP is working hard to prove that Juana Change is nothing but a disguised version of Senator Franklin Drilon. Now this we got to see!
