Justin Trudeau Threatens To Stop Filipino Immigration To Canada

AFCD75E3-D2B8-4DBA-8DF0-F55C9A7C287ATORONTO, Canada (The Adobo Chronicles, Toronto Bureau) – Egos are aplenty in American — north and south of the U.S.-Canada border.

In the U.S., Trump is building a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border and limiting legal immigration to the land of the free, home of the brave.

In Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is considering proposing to stop Filipino immigration to his country — all because his ego was hurt.

It all started when Trudeau’s government ordered a review of the Philippines’ purchase of helicopters from Canada.  Trudeau doesn’t want the military equipment to be used against terrorists and local insurgents in the Philippines.  So he thereatened to cancel the deal.

But David stood up against Goliath.

Even before Canada could initiate a review, Philippine President cancelled the deal himself.

Embarrassed, Trudeau says he will now consider closing Canada’s borders to Filipinos.

Currently, it is estimated that over 830,000 Filipinos are living in Canada.

Egocracy?

Adobo Chronicles Declines Invitation To Malacañang Press Corps

A755DD4A-6FED-46B5-89F0-16869EACB01F.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – The Adobo Chronicles was offered a front-row seat as a member of the Malacañang Press Corps (MPC), upon the urging of PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar.

Andanar said that MPC needs to have full diversity of voices — from the Mainstream Media to Internet bloggers.  “We seriously lack more light-hearted yet critical stories in order to fully reflect the day-to-day activities of the President.  The Adobo Chronicles is the best news source to fill that gap,” Andanar added.

However, The Adobo Chronicles respectfully declined the invitation from the MPC, saying  that “we can better serve the news consumers as an independent, and ethics-free organization.”

Philippines’ Michael Martinez Could Have Been A Second Shirtless Flag Bearer At Winter Olympics

4951732F-4EAA-4B99-A2F2-CD8F8C376F1F.jpegPYEONGCHANG, South Korea (The Adobo Chronicles, Seoul Bureau) – All eyes were on Pita Taufatofua, Tonga’s flag bearer at the opening ceremonies of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.  Once again, he marched shirtless and oiled as he waved his country’s red and white flag.

But Taufatofua could have met his match in the person of Michael Martinez, one of the Philippines’ two Olympians.

Alpine Skier Asa Miller carried the Philippine flag. But The Adobo Chronicles learned that figure skater Martinez wanted to go shirtless and oiled as the flag bearer to show his amazing body transformation since competing in the last Olympics.

Alas, the Philippine Olympic Committee had already named Miller as the flag bearer before Martinez came up with the proposal.

Well, maybe in 2022?
