Book By Filipino Author Makes It To Number One In NYT Bestseller’s List, Thanks To Duterte.

94C0863A-0648-4572-8670-4151E98C911B.jpegNEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, New York Bureau) – A controversial book authored by a Filipino just made it to the top of New York Times’ Bestseller list, thanks to an unexpected promoter, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

The book, “Altar of Secrets,’ tackles the issue of sex, politics and money in the Philippine Catholic Church.  It was written by Aries Rufo.

During a meeting with members of the Filipino community in South Korea, Duterte presented the book as a gift to two ladies from the audience.

A videotape of the event — including the President kissing one of the ladies on the lips — went viral.

As a result, Amazon and bookstores all over the world sold out all their book inventory and the publishers had to order an urgent reprint to meet the demand.

This is the first time that a book by a Filipino author made it to No. 1 in the NYT list.

Trump Asks Dennis Rodman To Mediate Summit Talks With North Korea’s Kim Jung-on

99984277-4EB5-42E3-9051-8CA84129DCAFWASHINGTON, D.C. (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – It is no secret that North Korean Leader Kim Jung-on is a big fan of American Basketball player Dennis Rodman, whom he has personally met in the past. Neither is the fact that Kim hates U.S. President Donald Trump and vice versa.

So, in the planned summit meeting between the American and North Korean leaders, Rodman has been tapped to mediate.

The Adobo Chronicles learned that during the meeting, Kim will be talking directly to Rodman through a Chinese interpreter while the basketball star will relay Kim’s message to Trump.

There will be no handshakes between Trump and Kim, only between Rodman and the North Korean leader.

Everything will be against protocol, but the Trump-Kim meeting is no ordinary summit, so the U.S. and North Korea both agreed to the unconventional.
