MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Well, it happened as expected. The deadline for the registration of SIM cards has been extended by the government for 90 days.

April 26 was supposed to be the deadline for all existing SIM card owners to register with their Telco provider so as not to face cancellation or deactivation.

But the bigger news is that it was JUSTICE Secretary Crispin Remulla who announced the extension, instead of DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology) Secretary John E. Uy.

It will be recalled that in the past, DILG (Department of Interior and Local Government) Secretary BenhurAbalos has been the official making public statements and announcements regarding criminal investigations involving police officers (which is really within the purview of the Justice Department).

Is there a lack of the DOJ Secretary job description here?

The Adobo Chronicles is reporting that there are long queues at confessional boxes at parish churches nationwide.

Apparently, the news and social media coverage of the impending deadline have caused some confusion among Roman Catholic Pinoys.

Many read or heard wrong about the SIM card registration deadline.

Moral of the story: one letter in the alphabet can make a whole lot of difference in the lives of people.

It is widely known that the American company McDonald’s always beats the competition, except the fat, stupid, happy bee, Jollibee.

Now, a Filipino businessman has found a way to challenge another giant American food chain, KFC which recently re-launched its “Double Down” chicken burger — all meat and no bun.

The local company called KepC just unveiled its answer to KFC’s Double Down: the all-bun, no meat burger!

It’s going to be a sure hit among dieters and vegetarians. Way to go, KepC!
