A Heavenly Conversation Between Miriam Santiago And Leni Robredo

Leni: Ha? Bakit?

Miriam: Inaayos pa niya yung conjugal property ninyo.

At Presscon, VP Leni Robredo Tried To Silence The Media

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – Rappler CEO Maria Ressa found an ally in her claim that the government is trying to silence the media.  The ally? Someone who is part of the government — Vice President Leni Robredo.

In a recent press conference where she discussed her role in the war on drugs, Robredo hushed the media.

She could not muster the answers to reporters’ questions about what her knowledge and competence are in as far as going after drug lords, now that she is the unofficial Drug Czar of President Rodrigo Duterte.

In her usual modus operandi in evading difficult questions, Robredo chided the reporters to stop asking questions and instead join her for some afternoon snacks.

According to a reporter present at the press conference, Robredo put her finger in front of her mouth and said: “Shhhhh. Huwag na kayong magtanong.  Mag-merienda na lang tayo.” (Hush, don’t ask any more questions. Let’s just have some snacks.) And we have the photo to prove it.

Senator Drilon Protests Choice Of PH Athletes’ Parade Uniforms For 2019 SEA Games

Libiran’s design, left; Drilon’s proposed design, right

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Opposition Senator Franklin Drilon is not done criticizing what he is calling excessive expenses for the Philippines’ hosting of the 2019 South East Asian (SEA) Games.

Just days after taking to task the government’s P50 Million expense in building the international sport event’s cauldron,  Drilon is now criticizing the choice of design for the parade uniforms of the Filipino athletes taking part in the games.

The design was a brainchild of internationally-renowned Filipino artist Francis Libiran.

While admitting he has no information on how much Libiran was paid for his concept and the cost for the execution of the uniforms, the Senator told The Adobo Chronicles that volunteers within the Liberal Party were more than willing to come up with a design for free, while using materials and printers from supporters in Divisoria.

Drilon even presented a proposed design for the Filipino athletes’ official parade uniform (see photo).
