Robredo Writes Excuse Letter For Her Absence From Cabinet Meeting

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Quezon City Bureau) – When their children miss school, parents write an excuse letter to the teacher or principal.  When Cabinet members miss a meeting, they write an excuse letter to the President.

That’s exactly what Vice President Leni Robredo did today.  She missed what would have been her first Cabinet meeting as newly-designated Drug Czar last night.

Upon receiving the President’s memo warning her of a repeat absence from Cabinet meetings, Robredo immediately wrote an excuse letter to Duterte.

In her letter, she cited the traffic on EDSA which would have made her late anyway if she attended the meeting.

”I am sure Metro Manila commuters can empathize with me because they too have frequent experience commuting from Quezon City (where the VP residence is located) to Manila (where Malacanang is located).

”I promise to be present at the next meeting,” she said in her letter, adding, “I respectfully request an exemption from the anti-wang wang policy so that I can arrive at the meeting on time.”

Duterte Issues First Warning To Leni Robredo

MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – If Vice President Leni Robredo still thinks that President Rodrigo Duterte wasn’t serious in designating her as Co-Chair of the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) — a Cabinet level position — she should think again.

Today, Duterte served her a memorandum warning her about repeating her absence from last night’s Cabinet meeting.

A lesson learned for Robredo.  She needs to know who is boss!

Drug Czar Leni Robredo Forms Her Own Team

downloadMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – Buoyed up by her appointment as Co-chair of the Inter-agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD), Vice President Leni Robredo today formed her own team to help her oversee the country’s war on drugs.

In her first official action as Drug Czar, Robredo told The Adobo Chronicles that she has tapped the expert services of Otso Diretso, the Opposition team that lost big-time in the 2019 Senatorial elections.

“I couldn’t think of any other group of dedicated and passionate individuals who can help me win the war on drugs than these eight individuals,” Robredo said.

“We’re on our way towards totally eliminating illegal drugs in our beloved country,” she added. “This is the beginning of the resurrection of our Liberal Party — the true party of the Filipino people.”
