Philippines’ Antonio Trillanes Wants A Senate Probe On Why The Holocaust Happened

E8B2B4DD-F240-4084-A5CF-B08912C82C12MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – He holds the distinction of being the most prolific Philippine Senator, having proposed the most bills that have become law.  But it’s really more of a numbers’ game as opposed to the actual content or significance of his bills.

His name is Antonio Trillanes, a former navy officer responsible for a couple of coup attempts in Manila, and a vocal critic of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Whenever a new local or national issue hits the new headlines, he’s sure to call for a Senate probe.

Most recently, he called for a Senate inquiry into why and how the Marawi siege happened a year ago.  The siege is about rebel groups taking over the City of Marawi in the island of Mindanao.  The city remains in ruins to this day.

But to add a feather to his cap, Trillanes is now calling for a Philippine Senate probe into why the Holocaust happened.

(It isn’t clear whether Trillanes‘ call for the Holocaust probe was triggered by a recent visit to the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin by Philippine Vice President Leni Robredo and other politicians during which they were photographed smiling.)

Maybe, Trillanes‘ proposed inquiry will justify or shed light on why Robredo’s group were all smiles in the photo!

Adobo Chronicles Names Antonio Trillanes Most Productive, Harworking Philippine Senator

F7FCFEC7-2876-4566-B19E-27C11597BB14.jpegMANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For several years, Senator Antonio “Sonny” F. Trillanes IV has earned the distinction as the top performing legislator in the country, based on the number of bills, resolutions and committee reports he has filed and sponsored that have been enacted into law.

Now, The Adobo Chronicles has named him ‘Most Productive And Hardworking Philippine Senator.’

In honoring Trillanes, The Adobo Chronicles said that despite his numerous trips outside of the country, he has managed to accomplish the following:

  • Dared Duterte to sign a waiver for opening his bank accounts
  • Sued pro-Duterte blogger for cyberlibel
  • Filed a complaint before the International Criminal Court accusing Duterte of Crimes against Humanity
  • Wanted Senate probe on Duterte and Sara’s alleged bank accounts
  • Wants Senate to investigate P60M DOT-PTV ‘scam’
  • Seeks an investigation into President Duterte’s order to close Boracay Island for six months.
  • Sued Senator Gordon for plunder on Philippine Red Cross mess
  • Wants probe on PCOO info caravan
  • Wants probe on social media ‘trolls’
  • Wants Senate probe into Chinese missiles in South China Sea
  • Wants Senate probe into why and how Marawi siege happened

As if those were not enough, Trillanes just announced today that he is seeking a Senate probe on why and how the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor and to launch an inquiry on why the Holocaust happened.

We can’t think of any Philippine Senator, dead or alive, who is more worthy of The Adobo Chronicles award.

VP Leni Robredo Fires Her Spokesperson Georgina Hernandez

B4F4CAE3-FFC0-4583-99ED-8F66BB6393E2MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – While Facebook fact-checkers Rappler and Vera Files were sleeping on the job, Inquirer fact-checked Vice President Leni Robredo who expressed alarm over China’s recent military activities in the South China Sea.  But she erroneously stated that a Chinese bomber landed in the area claimed by the Philippines.

The Chinese H-6K long-range bomber actually landed on Woody Island in the disputed Paracel Islands, which is quite far from the Philippines and is not claimed by the country. (The Chinese-occupied archipelago is actually claimed by Vietnam and Taiwan.)

It was an “Oops” moment as headlined by the Inquirer.

As a result of this gaffe, Robredo fired her spokesperson Georgina Hernandez for feeding her with the fake information.  Most of Robredo’s public statements are scripted by Hernandez and her team of propagandists. (It’s the same reason that after reading a prepared statement recently, Robredo, when asked by a reporter to answer an unscripted question, replied, “Walang nang question. Merienda na lang.”

Ironically, the Robredo has recently waged an offensive against people, including journalists, who she says are purveyors of fake news.
