Miss Philippines Mariele De Leon Says She’ll Do Her Best Not To Win Miss International Crown

7670FACC-A7BD-4E01-B83B-916F474A4F42TOKYO, Japan (The Adobo Chronicles, Tokyo Bureau) – We have beauty queens, and we have outspoken beauty queens.  Miss Philippines International 2017 Mariele de Leon is among the latter.

She has taken to her social media accounts to express her strong personal opinions about developments in her home country.  Netizens reacted most to her post criticizing the appointment of Mocha Uson as Assistant Secretary of the PCOO.

In another post (see photo), she also made clear that above all else, country is more important.  Yes even more important that a beauty pageant crown.

We caught up with de Leon during one of the rehearsals for the November 14 Miss International finals and she confirmed to The Adobo Chronicles that she will try her best not to win the crown, currently held by another Filipina Kylie Verzosa.

Asked to elaborate, she said: “As I’ve said in the past, the crown is less important than my love for my country.  So just to spite those who criticize me for speaking my mind, I will give the dumbest answers to the Q&A and fake a stumble on stage to ensure that I don’t win the crown.  Mine will be the last laugh.”

Wow, we have a real beauty with (or is it without?) brains!

Good luck, Miss Philippines!

One of the three apologies mentioned above is definitely NOT fake news!

(Editor’s note:  For this post, we’ve omitted are usual fact check meter as to which is fact and which is fiction.  We don’t want to be a spoiler!)
