MANILA, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles, Manila Bureau) – For the very first time, beginning this August, the entire Philippines will have a 911 emergency call service similar to that of the U.S. and other countries, thanks to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.  As mayor of Davao, Duterte established the service in his city.

Globe Telecom Incorporated on Wednesday, July 27, announced it will charge an additional P5 per call on top of the regular voice charges for their subscribers calling the 911 hotline.

So, here’s is a possible scenario involving an emergency client using his Globe phone service:

-“911, what is your emergency?”
-Caller: “I’m having a heart attack. Please send an ambulance.”
(Beep)
-Globe: “You do not have enough load to continue with this call. Please load Five Pesos.”
-“This is 911, are you still there?”
(Silence)
(Another incoming call)
-“911, what is your emergency?”
-Caller: “My dad just passed away from a heart attack, please send a coroner.”

Kris Aquino To Paris Hilton: “You’re A Copycat!”

image.jpeg
Aquino, left, and Hilton

QUEZON CITY, Philipines (The Adobp Chronicles,

The Filipino is TV and film actress Kris Aquino — the same Kris Aquino, the ex-presidential sister; the American is Paris Hilton — socialite and former reality TV star.

In April this year, Aquino confirmed the alleged plot by the Philippine bandit group Abu Sayyaf to kidnap her and cited this as the reason for not renewing her contract with broadcast network ABS-CBN.

Now, Hilton told Spain’s Diario de Ibiza that her celebrity status could make her a prime target for a jihadist terrorist attack.

“I’m constantly moving around from one country to another, and I’m a famous person who could be a definite target for an attack, and that is something that sometimes terrifies me,” Hilton said.

Upon learning of Hilton’s statement, Aquino immediateley went on her social media account and called the American a copycat.

“Wala siyang originality. Ginaya lang niya ako. (She has no originality. She just copied me). She wants to steal the limelight from me,” Aquino said.

The Adobo Chronicles could not independently confirm whether or not the threats to either celebrity have basis. Abu Sayyaf and ISIS have not returned our calls.

Donald Trump Wants All Presidential Debates On Twitter

No televised presidential debates in 2016?

NEW YORK, New York (The Adobo Chronicles, Washington Bureau) – Americans looking forward to the 2016 presidential debates may not see one at all — at least not on television.

As previously announced by the Commission on Presidential Debates, the schedule for three 2016 presidential debates is as follows:?

  • First presidential debate: Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.
  • Second presidential debate: Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, at Washington University in St. Louis.
  • Third presidential debate: Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Today, the Trump campaign indicated that their candidate would rather have all three presidential debates done via Twitter because “he has millions of followers on social media and he’s good at one-liner tweets.”

However, the lone vice presidential debate will still be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Longwood University in Farmville, Va., which will be televised live.

The Clinton campaign has yet to respond to Donald Trump’s proposal.
