After Huge Loss In New Hampshire, Hillary Clinton Changes Image, Literally

Sanders, Trump, Clinton : the white hair phenomenon
Sanders, Trump, Clinton : the white hair phenomenon

CHAPPAQUA, New York (The Adobo Chronicles) – Hillary Clinton  returned to her home state of New York a changed woman, after that huge loss to Bernie Sanders in this week’s New Hampshire Democratic primary.  Sanders defeated the more veteran Clinton, 64.8% to 30%.

On the Republican  side, Donald Trump led the pack at 35.3%, 15 points ahead of second placer John Kasich.

Clinton’s campaign advisers  finally figured out what’s ticking and clicking in the tight race for president of the United States: white hair.

Clinton’s first stop upon arrival in Chappaqua was her hairdresser’s studio where she followed her advisers’suggestion to match Sanders’ hair color.

Trump is reportedly considering doing the same. He’s not only tired of hearing those nasty jokes about his hair but, like Clinton, wants to be a better match for Sanders.

It’s all about the hair, ’bout the hair…

Baguio City Taxi Drivers: “We’re Being Robbed By Our Passengers!”

imageBAGUIO CITY, Philippines (The Adobo Chronicles) – In most cities in the Philippines, taxi riders complain about drivers “robbing” them of hard-earned money, either by tampering with the fare meter or taking the long and winding road to the passengers’ destination.

Not in Baguio City, the summer capital of the Philippines, which celebrates a huge cultural festival this entire month of February, the Panagbenga.  The annual flower festival is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of tourists to this  city which boasts of San Francisco-like weather.

It is the other way around: passengers robbing taxi drivers, with the full blessing of the government’s transportation agency!

It would have been a huge opportunity for taxi drivers to earn more income, except for one thing. They’re actually losing 5 pesos each time they take on passengers.

Plastered on the windshield of all Baguio City taxis is a sign that says, “Taxi Fare, less 5 pesos.”  So if your final fare as per the taxi meter is 100 pesos, you actually will only pay 95 pesos.

There is a logical and legal explanation to all this, but it is of little concern to the taxi-riding public.  What’s important is the 5-peso saving each time someone rides a cab.  After 20 taxi rides, you’ll have enough money to buy you a Starbucks espresso!

How The State Of Michigan Will Enforce Anti-Sodomy Law

imageDETROIT, Michigan ( The Adobo Chronicles) – The Michigan Senate has passed a bill that effectively reaffirms the state’s unconstitutional law making sodomy a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Michigan is one of more than a dozen states that still have sodomy bans on the books, despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2003 ruling in Lawrence v. Texas declaring them unconstitutional.

Some states’ sodomy laws specifically target gay relations, but Michigan’s is among those that make oral and anal sex crimes illegal regardless of whether they’re same-sex or different-sex. Michigan is also one of several states with a sodomy ban that’s intertwined with a prohibition on bestiality – effectively equating the two. The law makes it a felony for anyone to commit “the abominable and detestable crime against nature with mankind or with any animal.” If the person is already a sex offender, violations are punishable by life in prison.

Since most sexual activity is done in private, both critics amd supporters of the new bill have questioned how it will be enforced.

But the smart Michigan legislators have apparently taken care of that by tucking a provision in the bill that would require home, apartment and hotel owners to install hidden  cameras in all bedrooms. The cameras will feed into a 24-hour central monitoring station that would be established and funded from taxpayer money.

As incentive, the bill authorizes that 100% of expenses by the state’s citizens to install the cameras will be tax-deductible.

However, failure to install the cameras within 6 months after the bill becomes law will result in fine or imprisonment, or both.

In the meantime, the state of Michigan is now accepting applications from individuals who will be employed as sodomy monitors. All are encouraged to apply, except registered sex offenders.
